An Old Basket with a hole

A man went regularly for a Bible Discourse" ten days. Each day when he returned home his wife used to ask what was the message he got from that day's discourse and the man would say nothing. Finally the woman got angry and gave the man an old basket with a big hole and asked the man to fetch water from the tank. Obviously the man attempted ten times and brought no water.
Then the woman said that the man was like the old basket, for which the man answered "I may not have brought home any message each day from the bible discourse; but I am sure, I got cleansed like the basket which got immersed in the water again and again in an attempt to fetch water!"

I like it. Even if we have a hole in us (a sin, a problem, a lack of wholeness), we still get cleansed by God's Word!

We will never be complete until the day we reside with our Lord Jesus in heaven. Yet He is gracious enough to allow us to carry His living water throughout the world, even though in reality we have many "holes" of sin in us.

By His grace, we carry His Word. What a privilege to serve Him!

May my basket carry His water today! And yours!:sun:
