So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who [were] with him in the ark remained [alive]. And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days. Genesis 7:23-24 NKJV

Flood waters filled every valley in the world. Water climbed mountains until it covered every peak. The human life saved from the devastation had to withstand a year in an enclosed zoo. The people spent nearly half of that year floating in a world silent except for life in the ark.

The purpose of the ark was to protect a remnant of the living from death. The ark represented promise and perspective. Those who faced less-than-ideal living conditions would have a future to share with family and with the God who rescues.

Jesus is your ark of protection. Come to Him for rescue. Don’t be surprised when hardships come. The trials you face can never be compared with the future He’s prepared for you and the past He’s rescued you from.

If life that’s really life is found in Jesus, then those who follow Him will be the ones who discover it. Just like Noah, you’re faced with a choice. You could cave to the pressure of people who don’t understand, or you can trust the Rescuer who invites you to an eternal safe space.

Prayer: Lord, I’m aware that You save and rescue. I’m grateful that You love me. I’m willing to live for You even when trouble comes because You have promised to go through it with me.
