A famous song by the Beatles back in late 60's says.. "All you need is love".

Hmmm... is that true? Or do we need Jesus?
Can we really truly love without Jesus in our lives?

What is true love? A question with as many answers as there are Christian denominations.
1 Cor 13 in the Bible is probably the answer, but even the interpretation of those verses isn't always the same.

Did Jesus love the Pharisee's? Even when He called them a brood of vipers and sons of hell? ( Matt 3:7; Matt 12:34; Luke 3:7; )
I believe He did. He spent a lot of time telling them they were wrong about their beliefs.
Some people seem to think if we disagree with their beliefs we don't love them.

One thing to keep in mind, is that the love of God is not the salvation of God. God loves everyone,
even un-saved non-believing sinners. But that doesn't mean they are saved.

Love is a good thing to have. But love alone won't get you into heaven.

Jesus is Love
so all you do need is Love :)

May the Peace & Love of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you Forever and Ever. Amen.

Well Matthew touches upon how even the wicked love their young and give them good gifts, but how much more does God love us. I'm paraphrasing here.
I don't believe all you need is love. I know the word says that God is love, but aren't the Jews who do not believe in Jesus but God only not saved ?
So, no, It's not enough to love or be loved or believe in God as the Jews do. You need to believe in His son Jesus.
Sometimes I change secular lyrics in my head to Godly ones cause I enjoy the melody of the song so much. Weird Al Yankovich does a form of this lol.
My rewording of this Beatle tune would be All You Need Is Christ.

I guess it in the definition. Love there are so many definiations we as americans look at differantly cause we only have one word for it it Love.
Being more definitive True Love is Jesus which is Love, Truth. but Remember Truth without Love is a Resounding Gong.
I can't speak for you only for me. I have to be care when I speak the will of the God but the evil one attacks us especially in Christ we are the highest value target, because the lost ones he has it the children of God that he wants their soul. Now what I mean he attacks us in Christ is that he will take the word of God and twist it
so that we may think we are doing the will of God(They will Be Done) when the twisted becomes (My will be Done). As children of the Light our true nature since we were created in his Image is to Love, but when sin came into the world through Eve and Adam (I say Eve and Adam because it entered her first and she wanted to be as God and Adam did nothing to defend God) We must be careful cause God commands us follow the commandments and do this by Loving God and Others as We Love ourselves. Now sometimes and I have been guilty of it is that I think cause God commands it I have the Justification to Judge. No "Judge NOT lest ye be Judged" Only an all knowing All Loving God Can Judge we can have an opinion and what is true for us according to his will. Further more If we push Christ on someone instead of Just Loving them as Christ commands us, we may be driving them further aways (Some will sow some will reap). We are all on our walk in this life we must do Our Part as Christ Commands. Only God can Change a Heart and if we let him use us we can be his instrument, but only when and in the way that he asks.

I for one, would hate to think I reduced Jesus/God to a mere emotion.

But is all love of God?
Love for money? Love for the world? Love for self?

What is love?
1 John 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Love is not an emotion in truth, it's action. Love is a verb. God so loved the world that He gave and gave and gave and .....
.

But is all love of God?
Love for money? Love for the world? Love for self?
I feel those would be improper uses based on the way the English language has developed.
The original Hebrew and Greek needs to be studied to get a clearer picture.

! Cor 13 Does provide a better picture of the paths or actions love chooses.
1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not
arrogant or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Love never ends.Love never fails.love will last forever!

There are many variations so the above is a composite of several versions.
God Is love and Jesus is his word of love become flesh so Jesus is love in the flesh.
If God is love then he does not demand his own way and I can't demand my own way.
God's will shall be done and without demanding his own way.
I guess that's where the patience part comes in.

Can we really truly love without Jesus in our lives?
I don't think so and that's why he is the way to love and God and the kingdom.
Maybe when we are children, before they told us God was out to get us.
It takes Jesus to see that God was never out to get us.
I do think love is out to get us but to smother us with kisses and goodness.

When it comes to what we need to be saved, words are words and the real thing is the real thing. There are many words that the Bible uses to explain what is needed for salvation. You could emphasize one or a few and perhaps come up with a legalistic denomination. However, words like grace, faith, love, redeemed, by the blood, by water, baptized, believe, trust, see, dwell, in him, in Christ, and so forth are all part of the same ball of wax, so to speak. They are words trying to communicate what is the reality. Generally speaking, it is impossible for a person to have the love of God without God having saved that person by his love and shed forth his own love abroad into their hearts. Anyone with such love is apparently saved, but it is by Jesus that the salvation is wrought. Yes, all you need is love, and if you want to use words to try and say something like 'but you also need this and this', I think it is most likely just wordy attempts to explain salvation, which is really just the simplicity of being in Christ, if you will.

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."

"For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward."

Greetings,

'Love is all you need'
sounds good....
But it needs to be asked, "to do what?"

Bless you ....><>
