1 Peter 2:11-12 Dear Friends,I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
Aliens and strangers in the world. Is this how we truly see ourselves? Or do we see ourselves as Christians, who are here to love our worldly neighbours and spread the good news? And if we are to spread the good news, what is it? is it that people can give their lives to Jesus and then go and tell others? What about the kingdom of heaven, the royal priesthood, the living stones, the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is ourselves etc... What did Jesus say about the kingdom of heaven? its like a mustard seed, the smallest seed, but it grows to be the larges tree in the garden. Why aren't we talking about that? The living stones, which is ourselves, that when we come together we become the church, why is this not being talked about? Instead we talk about buildings that cost so much money to maintain, that there is none left to feed the poor. What about the royal priesthood who is us, we only speak of ourselves as miserable sinners.
We are aliens and strangers in this world. we're in it but not of it. we belong to the 'Kingdom of Heaven', we have a King and we serve him as a Royal Priesthood, Living Stones that together are His Church. We are temples where we commune with the Living God. This is Awesome Knowledge and THIS is what we should be talking about. If we don't, we will not grow in confidence and when we're called upon we may not have the wherewithal to refuse the mark and stand our ground like Stephen did. I'm not having a go here I'm just fearful for my brothers and sisters. Bless you.
