About the Holy Spirit

There isn't much teaching about the Holy Spirit in our churches today and you can only wonder why, there is so much emphasis on the "better life" when what we actually need is the "Spirit Life".
We can only conquer the world with the power of the Holy Spirit but if we are too busy with trying to "prosper" I wonder our chances of making heaven and taking many more with us.
I wonder what's your take on this.

I agree with you that less or nothing is taught in some Churches about Holy Spirit. I have also wondered why. I think the best answer is that they do not know anything about anointing of Holy Spirit and they have never experienced Holy Spirit in their lives so how can they talk or teach about Holy Spirit, when they know nothing about it? The best policy to hide something you lack is: to keep quite.

However, I think, to prosper is no sin, because when we worship the LORD our God, His blessings are on our food and water and He takes away sickness. [Exodus 23:25-26]

Yes when we take matters in our own hands, and try to prosper without putting God first in everything, and use means that we see others using to gain a position in the company or making quick money, we drift away from God because we follow the crowd in doing wrong. This philosophy of following crowd is not acceptable to God. "Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong." [Exodus 23:2]

Our church is doing teachings on the Holy Spirit in our Sunday morning services this year. It's really awesome, digging deeper into the character and personality of the Holy Spirit.

An update on the message Sunday morning. Was again on the Holy Spirit, and His power. One of the things mentioned, is that too many times we don't wait on the Holy Spirit and just go ahead and try do things in our strength, and then wonder why nothing is happening, like healing for instance. Jesus told the apostles to wait at Pentecost for His Holy Spirit, and when it came upon them, they had MUCH power and authority. That same Holy Spirit is in us, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead!!! Isn't that awesome? We must wait to for the promptings of the Holy Spirit before we want to take something on.

The Holy Spirit is our deposit from God, to equip us for His purpose here on earth. We can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil 4:13). Jesus did not just leave us here alone to fend for ourselves, He left His Councilor and Comforter, to do great things. And to resist the devil and he will flee from us (James 4:7). When we try and do things in our strength, of course we will fall. But God is faithfull, He gave us His Spirit to do much in His Name.

We need to take the authority that Jesus gave us and use it in the proper way, the way He ordained it. If God is for us, who can be against us?(Psalm 56) It boils down to having knowledge and understanding and wisdom, and above all else FAITH. We are children of the Most High God, of course we are conquerors, because He is the VICTORIOUS One!!!!
