About Jesus

Hi. Jesus is so amazing , but I just wonder how do I get close to him, can anyone tell me , and when he is close what happens .

It says in the Bible draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
James 4.8
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double‑minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Just spend time with Him daily. Read the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you read and that will help.

Sometimes we can feel His presence with us. It is more about faith and believing it in your heart.

There are lots of good topics here to help you grow in your walk with Jesus too.

the closest you can get is to repent and ask him into your life. realize that we are alive because of him. as far as what it is like. it peace joy confidence knowing that no matter what happens to you he is always there and he is always handling everything for us.

You know The devil is going to do all he can to keep you from Jesus. But we all have what it takes to fight that. God's love flows freely, you come to him and he will take you in.
I have days when I feel like I am far from him. So I take the time to pray or read the word, and It does help, A LOT.

great point katie. praying and reading the word is awesome to get into his presence. worship is the most intimate you can be with him.

Beautiful Jesus

I don't have much more to add. LadylovesJesus, your response was so right on.
What I have started doing, is making a "statement of faith". I say to Jesus, "You were conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, studied scripture all Your life, preached the New Covenent to the world, performed many miracles, ........(and I keep going until I say that "You rose bodily into Heaven and are seated at the right hand side of God". This gives me firm feet and much faith and I always say "I believe in You Jesus, I have my statement of faith".

Matthew 9:22
Jesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well. And at once the woman was restored to health.

Acts 20:21
I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Jesus took all of our sin and pain and carried it with Him, until He died. We are free because of Him and our faith in Him. I hope that your discovery of the Lord continues for the rest of your life minory girl. God bless you and Amenixie :rainbow:

Solitude

In our busy world it can sometimes be difficult to get close to God with so many things to distract us and get our attention.

One of the best ways that I know to get close to God is to spend time alone with Him. Reading the Bible during those times is great.

Praying is great...praying is essentially your renewed spirit connecting with God's spirit. You don't even have to say anything.

Spurgeon said to "practise prayer." The more we practise being in God's presence, bringing our heart, our thoughts, our praise, our requests, our hurts to Him, the more the Holy Spirit trains us to prayer even better and get even closer to God.

Spending time with God in a group situation can be a wonderful thing, but spending time completely alone with God is invaluable.
