I like baseball, what a wonderful sport and, and like a Christian, a professional baseball player can fail most of the time and still be a success! Most of us know the game of baseball and we understand the difference between success and failure is often a ration or a percentage.
A professional baseball player who goes up to bat and hits 3 times out of ten will end up it the Baseball Hall of Fame, while being and abject failure 70% of the time.
Such is the case of a Christian. You come up to bat for God and you may fail most of the time but, God is not counting your failures, he is concerned that you still , pick yourself up, and continue to bat.
Look at the Parable of the Sower
Mark 4:4-8
4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
So, you don't gauge your success as a Christian about what or how much you do. God gauges your success by following him and sowing his seeds and don't worry if you think you have failed most of the time. Keep sowing the seeds he gives and you may succeed 30, 60 and some 100 % of the time. So, similar to a Professional Baseball Player, the objective is to keep coming up to bat and someday you will be rewarded by going into God's Hall Of Fame!
