It’s clear from reading the four Gospels that relationships with people were at the heart of Jesus’ earthly ministry. From the very beginning in Eden, God made people to be in relationship with Him.
In today’s scripture verse, Jesus reminded His followers how very important it is to Him—and to all of heaven—when one sinner repents and is brought into a relationship with the heavenly Father.
Jesus gave His followers the Great Commission so they could know their purpose in life. Leading people to Jesus usually takes time, because it takes time to build relationships. When people know you really care, they will trust that you have their best interests in mind. Sharing the Gospel at that point is a natural next step and will be received much more easily than if you didn’t have a relationship.
Let people know that Jesus is your King and that He is the most important person in your life. God made you and wants to bless you so you can be a blessing to others. Stay connected to Jesus and boldly share His love with a broken world.
Prayer: Lord, help me be intentional in seeking out people who are hurting and need You. Give me the courage to share my faith. Show me how to love them like You do.
