They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. Luke 2:16-17
There may appear to be many reasons to hurry and to rush. Many urgent tasks will come up, and the stress of the holidays can be particularly challenging at times. With the pressure and commitments you have at this time of year, you may not be able to see the ways that God is at work around you.
The shepherds offer you a helpful example of dropping everything in order to be a part of God's work. You may not know when God is going to offer you an opportunity to be a part of His work, and the timing may not be convenient. However, if you're willing to drop everything, you may find a deeper experience of God's salvation and a deeper connection with those around you.
Most importantly, as you seek to keep God at the forefront of the Christmas holidays, dropping everything in order to be present for Him will surely give you something to share. You may find renewed peace and joy that will be better than any gift you could purchase or make.
