A Picture of Dependability

As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced." Romans 10:11

In modern psychology, those who have a difficult time trusting in or depending upon another person are said to have “trust issues.” Sometimes those trust issues come as a result of a father who repeatedly proved himself to be undependable.

While some earthly fathers weren’t as dependable as they should have been, you never have to worry about this with your Father in heaven. He always keeps His promises, and is always there for you if you simply call out to Him.

Jesus, who knew your heavenly Father better than anyone said this of Him: “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, through you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:9-11)

When you come to God in faith for something—your salvation or some other pressing need—you can trust in Him to generously give you what you ask for. When you place that kind of trust in your heavenly Father, He will never let you down or leave you wondering where He is. Even when it seems He’s not there, He’s still there.
