A new follower! Hello! :)

Hello everyone. This is my first post on here. I have always believed in God. My papaw is a preacher. I grew up going to church. As I aged (teenage years+) I stopped going to church.

My husband has also always believed in God. He also always went to church as a child. Then stopped as he aged.

We met when I was 15 & he was 17. That is when we started dating. We are now in our 20's & married. We recently (YESTERDAY) committed our sins to God. We found a new church that seems perfectly fitted for us. I grew up going to Baptist churches & my husband Pentecostal churches. So when it came time to find a church I kept seeing all of these different religions in the names. It made me more confused than ever. Until I found one called The New Hope Christian Church. That is what my husband & I are. We are Christians. We want to go to church to worship Our Lord Our Savor. That is all. We will start going there next Sunday & I am a tad bit nervous but more so excited than ever.

I am still having a hard time switching over my life style. I use to cuss alot. As does my husband. So far since committing my sins I have cussed twice. As soon as I did I told God I was sorry.

Anyways I just wanted to say hi. I found this site hoping to have a place to come to to help keep me going down the right path. by following the word of GOD!

Hi and welcome.

There are no denominations in Heaven I dislike that there are dozens of different denominations and sects of Christianity as I know when we get to that final place we'll all be as one. Sadly as humans we aren't perfect and during our earthly lives at least we'll always see dozens of different denominations and just have to deal with that I'm glad however you've found a church to call home.

Good of you to be honest with the cussing just remember none of us are sin free.

Someone pointed our this amazing verse to me just the other day on one of my threads.

Romans 11:32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

It's good to strive to live like Jesus but don't beat yourself up to much about stumbling the heart of Christianity is that we have a merciful all loving and forgiving God

Have you ever turned on the light after sleeping
all night, and it hurts your eyes because of the
sudden transition? It can be like that. When we are
used to the life of sin and darkness we lived in for
so long and finally come to Christ's light, it can hurt.
I still sometimes have my feelings hurt when someone
points out 'Hey....that isn't right. We gotta talk about that."
They were only being a good brother/sister in Christ to
me by pointing out that I was heading in the wrong direction
but it still hurt. With Christ, we are able to do what seems
to be impossible though.

Remember, the Bible is not just a book of books,
it is a mirror in which we look in and see if
we look more like Christ than we do ourselves.
