A Clean Offering

"He shall offer a male without blemish......"Leviticus 1:3

Without blemish. That is, there shall be no visible imperfection. But in Lev. 1:9 we read....Its entrails and its legs he shall wash with water.' There shall be no hidden defilement. No visible blemish, and no hidden defilement.

The offering we bring to God, the offering of our bodies as a living sacrifice must be a clean offering. We remember, of course, that our Lord Himself is the only perfect offering: He 'offered himself without spot unto God'
Heb 9:14
And we are taken up in that offering, and we accept the significance of that once-for-all offering by bringing ourselves a living sacrifice: but without blemish. No visible, conscious imperfection: no wrong thing not yet put right: no uncleaness harboured in the soul or manifest in the body.

The sins of the offerer can rob the offering of value, and make it a disgraceful mockery. Is 1:14-18 "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LOrd? cries the Psalmist 24:1 And the answer? "He that hath clean hands and a pure heart' No public blemish, and no secret sin.

It was because of this basic requirement for every offering of the body as a living sacrifice, that Paul has to tell the members of the Corinthian Church, "Dont you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which you have of God? It needs to be clean...and if it is not clean....make it clean.

The blood of Christ is available, right now to wash that thing whatever it may be...away, even now, if you will but confess it, in your heart to Him, and ask Him to rid you of it,.....and he surely will
