In my Christian Goth group, we talk about the love of Christ and the music that praises Him. There are Gregorian chants here, there is mainstream Christian radio play, and then there are the independents, faithful and talented. Anyway, I mentioned one notorious industrial musician from Babylon, and one of my friends suggested David Pataconi's work.
David was already on the path to Christ and singing his praises in his given talent... but I was pleasantly surprised to watch him be baptized just last Sunday. Praise Jesus!
I am waiting for a physical compact disc to arrive in my mailbox soon for Brother David's "Modern Psalms 2". I was listening to a digital stream of this album when the track "Meet Me Here" played, and it touched me - I cried on my last few minutes drive to work.
Here is a link to Pataconi's page with some of his lyrics. You know, the part that is important to God Almighty:
Lyrics
I must say that his testimony has helped me find this website, study The Word more often, and I even dare say, to explore putting my own music to the poetry I write to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I sincerely hope that sharing this also blesses you somehow. Peace.
Psalms 150 (KJV)
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
