My flesh and my heart fail; [But] God [is] the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26 NKJV
Sometimes life feels like a roller coaster, with a million ups and downs—and more downs than ups. But you can take encouragement in the truth that God wants to be your “enough” in every situation—or, as today’s verse puts it, “the strength of (your) heart and (your) portion forever.”
Believe that you heavenly Father is working right now to create a beautiful thing in you and through you—even though you feel like your flesh and heart are failing. The enemy wants you to feel the weight of all your past failures, but you can trust that God has forgiven you. When He sees you, He sees the work Jesus did on the cross.
Think about God’s grace and mercy, and let those be the things that make your heart glad and cause you to sing a new song to your beautiful, faithful Lord. From that heart position, go into today grateful. Keep your eyes open to all the ways God shows you His love.
Prayer: Lord, I know You love me and that I need to remember what You consider important in this life. Your Word reminds me to love You with everything I have. Lift me up when I can’t feel Your presence, and forgive me for my lack of faith.
