Most of the Girls at school, carried their ipods proudly, decorated with pink and purple furry covers, If you didnt have one ,you just didnt fit in.

Jemmas, family were facing alot of money problums, with her Father out of work, due to a car accident and her Mother struggling to support the family. Jemma could not have the real ipod but if she saved hard she might be able to buy that small pink mp3 player at the local music store.

Jemma worked hard, taking babysitting jobs, which took over all her spare time, she mowed lawns after school, and after only six weeks of hard work she had $86.00, just enough for her pink mp3 player.
Excited Jemma headed into town, her hard earned cash in her pocket.

As Jemma approached the music store she spotted her Mother through the window of the local hardware store, Jemma walked into the store to greet her Mother, but stopped short when she heard her Mothers strained voice, pleading with the owner to grant her more credit, as she could not afford to pay for her goods untill her next paycheck ,which wasnt due till the following friday.
Jemma felt her face flush, with shame,as she hid behind one of the tall stalls, she waited untill her mother left the store defeated ,with her face full of concern.

Jemma reached into her pocket and felt those notes all rolled up together, she left out a sigh and approached the sales desk, she asked how much was owed on her Mothers account, the clerk told her bluntly ,her mother owed $52.00, Jemma put her cash on the counter and asked the clerk to clear her Mothers account and to use the $34.00 to pay for the goods, her mother had been refused.

The owner of the store watched Jemma hand over her money,he was impressed by Jemmas actions and he took a dollar from his pocket and dropped it into a competition box on the counter and wrote down Jemmas name on the form beside the box, mabey he thought to himself.

Jemma left the store with her Mothers goods and a receipt stating a $0.00 balance on the account. She didnt feel sad, she felt it had been the right thing to do, and with a few more jobs in time she could rebuild that $86.00and get her mp3 player.

At home Jemmas mum cried when her daughter handed her the goods and the receipt, she thanked God for her daughter and her kind heart, and prayed the Lord would would repay Jemma in his own way.

A few days later a draw was held at the local hardware store, number 86 was drawn and beside the number was Jemmas name. The owner smiled as he picked up the phone and called to inform Jemma of her win.

A top of the range ipod worth over $300.00, was the prize given to number 86.
