8 We will get to the point where we do not want to spendtime in sin or be around those whose lives are about sin but will want to dothings of righteousness things the Lord wants us to do and to spend time withothers who are serving the Lord.

9 The Lord can take temptations away from us if He wills itand us pray for it to be done. The Lord will keep certain temptations in ourlife so we can grow. If we did not get weak we might stop relying on Him oftentimes our weaknesses our temptations we have.

I like your replies and only have some additional thoughts. 2Peter 2 starts of with a warning about false prophets and the righteous man who is concerned about it. But the lessons ,as always, are broad reaching and still useful for us today.

• 8 With the true "Born Again" believer, we are righteous because of the one who is inside us. It is his righteousness that shines through us and leads to our acknowledgement and repententness from sin; one of the very first fruits or works of the spirit is our acknowledgement of sin.
• 9 I am not sure about God as taking away or not taking away temptations nor more than he takes away other tribulations. Certainly his will is divine but, I usually look at it as more as he allows these things to happen and we are further sanctified by them. I agree, because it is scriptural, that in our weakness is found our strength in Jesus Christ.
