[h=1]2 Peter 2:17-18King James Version (KJV)[/h]17 These are wells without water,clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness isreserved for ever.
18 For when they speak greatswelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, throughmuch wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
New European Version
17 These aresprings without water and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness ofdarkness has been reserved. 18 For when they speak great swelling words ofemptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, theones who have actually escaped from those who live in error;

17 Wells without water have no purpose, those without Christhave no purpose because the purpose of life is to come to Him and find life.They will remain in their darkness.

18 They want to sound important and wise before people, Godcan see thru all this. They want to be glory to themselves instead of God whothey chose not to follow, by rejecting God it shows their pride the fact thatsomething is in place of God and keeps them from coming to Him. They keep doingthings of the flesh and find enjoyment in them they no nothing good but onlyknow what feels good, this is often sinful, pleasure is not always wrong butfor them pleasures come before God and anything that comes before God issinful.
