2 Peter 2:1-3King James Version (KJV)2 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

New European Version

But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their destructive ways, by reason of whom the way of the truth shall be blasphemed. 3 And in covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Their sentence now from of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

1 There will always remain false teachers. They teach out ofself gain and not gain of God. They preach their message and not God’s messagefor them. They lead others away from God because there message is not of God soit does not draw us close to God.

2 Reason is often something that lead us away from the truthbecause often times these false teachers will reason the scriptures. We need tostay strong in the scriptures and only listen to teachers who teach the truthof the word, there is a difference between it being a different doctrine andbeing heresy. The best doctrines are supported by scripture; heresies bend oreven break scripture.

3 They often times are lead by the money or fame becausegiving another message then God’s means they are not lead by Him. They willsuffer judgment for their false teachings and for those they had lead away fromthe Lord. This also the danger of being a teacher, we become responsible whatthey hear when we teach but if we teach God’s word this should never be aproblem.

II Thessalonians 2: 3 says "Let no man deceive you by any means: for
that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and
that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

In our time line the falling away from sound doctrine has been going on for some time. We could say that it happened once before when the Catholic Church was creating its doctrines and practices.

says "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the
latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a
hot iron;"

says "For the time will come when they will not
endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to
themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4.And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables."

: "Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like?.....Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?...It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."

The English word till, from heos, meaning until, indicates that the leavening of the kingdom of God, the Christians, or the large majority of them, the Church, goes on for a period of time "till" the whole thing is leavened.

The leavening of the Church increases until it is completely leavened. What has leavened the Church? It must be the work of the many false prophets seen in Matthew 24: 11, "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."

False prophets exist at all times but after the falling away they increase in number and in their ability to deceive many.

Hello Tulsa.
You said the following.
In our time line the falling away from sound doctrine has been going on for some time. We could say that it happened
once before when the Catholic Church was creating its doctrines and practices.
May I correct this idea of yours Tulsa. The church has probably never really been sound in a doctrinal sense.
Form the time of Christ and even to this very day, the church has never been fully correct by any means in doctrine.

Spend some time on 'Talk Jesus' and you will see a myriad of doctrinal aberrations, some historical and others
more recent. It is very rare to see, the clear and accurate doctrine of the scripture, presented without theological
distortion.

The Catholic church is deeply unsound in doctrine but so is almost every other organised church institution.

[h=3]It looks like the editing was taking out the scripture references, which were
I Timothy 4:1-2, II Timothy 4: 3-4, and Luke 13: 18-21
. But the texts of these three scriptures were not edited out.[/h]Strange.
