Is salvation once saved always saved?

Now the spirit speaketh expressly that in later times some shall depart from the faith.

1. The Holy Spirit speaks here because it is from Him that believers depart.
2. Only believers have Faith only believers fall from faith
3. They were giving heed to God but now demon spirits
4. Unbelievers already give heed to demon spirits
5. They were giving heed to Gods doctrine
6. They now give heed to devils doctrine

Now Christ died for all men.... so eph 2:8 Grace is for all men... but it is the faith that makes for salvation and makes men different than men of the world.

So those who fall from Faith are believers as unbelievers can never have faith otherwise they'd be a believer.

This verse clearly teaches believers can depart from the Holy Spirit.

Eph 2:8 Gods grace THROUGH (PLUS BY WITH) OUR FAITH and we are saved...

Greetings,

1Timothy 4:1

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

This verse clearly teaches believers can depart from the Holy Spirit.

This verse clearly teaches:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Timothy 4:1-3

Bless you ....><>

He never leaves us or forsakes us.
We walk away from Him; focusing our heart on the temporal, carnal, fleshly life and not the eternal spiritual one.

1 Timothy 4:1
Ephesians 2:8

Hello ' Truth be told',
I do not believe that, 1 Timothy 4:1, can be used as a proof text to prove that salvation can be lost. It needs to be read in it's context.

- Departure from the faith,
- giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils,
- speaking lies in hypocrisy,
- forbidding marriage,
- commanding abstenance from meat

These are the dangers for believers in latter times, which Paul warns Timothy of, and urges him to bring these warnings to the attention of those under his care. He also tells him the means whereby these pitfalls can be avoided in verses 6-16.

There is nothing said to indicate that salvation is lost. The Lord knows those who are His. Our walk and witness, our 'service' in other words, will be judged, and we can suffer loss, but salvation is of God, and the gifts and promises of God, are without repentance.

Complete....

1. Eph 2:8 grace THROUGH our Faith and we are saved and receive the Holy Spirit.

if you depart from faith you have what?

Just Grace..... and grace plus what equals salvation? Without faith there is no salvation.

Do christians understand what salvation is?

GRACE (plus through with) FAITH that equals salvation
If you have just GRACE is there salvation?
So FAITH is what completes salvation.
So once you have faith you have the Holy Spirit
So once you depart from faith you are back to just GRACE

When you depart FAITH the Holy Spirit also goes because without FAITH you have no salvation or Holy Spirit... the reason for the Holy Spirit speaking here.

There were believers in the Bible that did not have the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:5; Acts 2:4;
Acts 8:15-17; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:2-6;

There are requirements to receive the Holy Spirit

Acts 5:32; Luke 11:13;

Thank God that His grace is able to keep us, so that even when we are unfaithful, He is faithful! God, the PERFECT FATHER, doesn't abandon His spiritually poor children, and this unworthy belief that He will banish those He loves and calls His own to the fires of hell is a lie of the devil.

Rather, when they come to Him for reward, they will discover that they have lost some rewards that have been planned for them. Our judgment at the Bema Seat of Christ will be an amazing time for us, but it will be a terrible time for us as well, knowing that we were less than faithful and have missed certain rewards planned for us by our obstinacy.

I am comforted when I consider it, knowing that my Dad says that He will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

Hebrews 7:25
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

The criminal next to Jesus on the cross made a decision to accept Jesus and received eternal bliss. Now we who have done that PLUS EXTRA servitude after our decision run the risk of losing eternal bliss? Please explain that to me using impeccable logic.

Paul is crystal clear to us to continue examining ourselves in fear and trembling before God Phil 2:12. For me, this and all other scripture that appears to suggest we can lose our salvation is not actually speaking of us losing our salvation. It is rather of us not being Christians in the first place.

OSAS is true from God's point of view, not ours. We are not God. We walk daily examining ourselves and never fully confident that we have made it until we have actually made it 1 Cor 10:12.

Hello Truth-be-told,

'For by grace
are ye saved
through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
not of works,
lest any man should boast.'

(Eph 2:8,9)

* With respect, you are making 'faith' into a work, which it is not.
* The margin of my Bible tells me, that (quote) 'We are saved by grace and not by faith, which is the channel through which flows to us the Divine stream of saving grace. Both alike are God's gifts', and concerning the gifts of God in Romans 11:29 it says, 'For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.'

Praise God! For His wondrous grace

18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
1 John 2:18-19
