[h=3]1 Peter 4:3-5[/h]King James Version (KJV)
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
EasyEnglish Bible Translation
v3 The people who do not know God want to do bad things. And, in past times, you did those bad things too. But now you have wasted enough time doing those bad things. You did wrong things that people should not do. The things that your bodies wanted to do ruled you. You had sex with people who were not your wife or your husband. You were drunks. You went to many bad parties and you drank too much alcohol. Also, you *worshipped false gods, which is something that God hates.v4 The people who do not know God continue to do many, very wrong things. But now, you do not want to do wrong things any more as they do. So, those people are very surprised because of you, and they say bad things about you. v5 But those people will have to explain to God what they have done. He is ready to decide what should happen to every person. He will decide about all people, whether they are alive or dead.

3 Before we came to Christ we lived to please ourselves andserve our own desires and wants but we should no longer live this way but nowlive to please Him and live to meet what He desires of us. There are many sinsthat e have committed before coming to the Lord. Christ can forgive us of allour sins but we should no longer live for our sins but live for Him.

4 The world will not understand why we no longer live asthey do and they will grow to hate us because they do not want to change as wedid. They hated Christ before us and then hated the disciples we should expectif e are doing right for the world to hate us as well. We should show Christthru our lives as the disciples did before us and this is what they will hatemost. No one is hated by the world as Christians are.

5 They will answer for what they do if they do not come tothe saving grace of Christ as we did. Those without Jesus will be judged byJesus who they rejected and wish that they had listened to us instead ofmocking us. Jesus is gracious but is also just, those without receiving Him astheir Lord will face His wrath.
