5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

5 This is how, long ago, holy women who put their hope in God made themselves beautiful: by respecting the authority of their husbands. 6 Consider how Sarah, our mother, obeyed her husband, Abraham, and called him “lord,” and you will be her daughters as long as you boldly do what is right without fear and without anxiety.

5 Women serve God by being wives to their husbands. Womenare to be there for support for their husbands. While men will make mistakestheir wives should stand with them thru their mistakes.

6 Sarah served Abraham and was a very good wife to him, evenwhen he made mistakes her obeyed him. Sarah is a model for other women. Womenshould seek to please their husbands. This is not to mean they are second classbehind men and they are not to be treated as slaves or servants. They shouldlook as themselves as wives and live up to their calling.
