3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

3 Don’t focus on decorating your exterior by doing your hair or putting on fancy jewelry or wearing fashionable clothes; 4 let your adornment be what’s inside—the real you, the lasting beauty of a gracious and quiet spirit, in which God delights.

3 We should not try to make ourselves look a way. This isnot saying we should not look nice; I personally try to dress my best for achurch service, when I can. The outside should often reflect the inside. Weshould not dress in a way that draws intention away from serving and praisingthe Lord. We should not dress to impress any one because church is to praisethe Lord, not to be noticed.

4 What is on the inside is far more important than what onewears. If we look nice but don’t have Christ in our life then we have nothingbut clothes. If we have Christ we have ore than nice apparel. The important thingis to first be a Christian then lives the part. Dressing a certain way is notimportant.
