[h=3]1 Peter 2:6-8[/h]King James Version (KJV)
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

6 For it says in the words of the prophet Isaiah,
See here—I am laying in Zion a stone,
a cornerstone, chosen and precious;
Whoever depends upon Him will never be disgraced.
7 To you who believe and depend on Him, He is precious; but to you who don’t, remember the words of the psalmist:
The stone that the builders rejected
has been laid as the cornerstone—the very stone that holds together the entire foundation,
8 and of Isaiah:
A stone that blocks their way,
a rock that trips them.
They stumble because they don’t follow the word of God, as they were destined to do.

6 Scripture is often quoted in other scriptures it is somethingspecial about the bible, you can read one passage that was written a 2000 yearsago and it refers back to a passage written 4000 years ago and then laterrefers to something that has not yet happened. <st1:city w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Zion</st1lace></st1:city> is a name for the temple or the Jewishnation. Here it refers to those who have faith in the Lord. We today have faithin the Lord and those of old had faith in the Lord and this is the buildingblock of the family of God thru Christ Jesus, we can call Him Father.

7 We who believe have a relationship with the Lord and aremade special because of this relationship. Those who don’t have thisrelationship remain disobedient and continue to follow after their flesh but weas believers follow after Him.

8 There are many that may cause others to stumble due totheir disobedient to the Lord’s commands and will. We are not to the stumblingstones effect our growth as believers but grow in spite of those who are disobedient.We are to grow in faith and by this that stumbles may come to Him as well but,if this does not happen it should not affect our walk. We are to show the worldChrist by the way we follow after Him and we should not live in a way thatcould cause one to stumble, even though we are sinners.
