1 Peter 1:18-20

King James Version (KJV)

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

1 Peter 1:18-21

The Message (MSG)

18-21 Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

18 The rewards we receive here on earth may fade away. Thetreasured laid up on earth change hands from one to another. We can only holdthings here on earth as long as we are here on earth. The rewards we will receivefor the work we do in the Spirit will be rewarded from heaven and this rewardswill not pass away. Man often seeks to be rich in this life but we are to laytreasures up in heaven.

19 Without Christ we can not do works thru the Spiritbecause we would not receive the Spirit. Christ died on the cross and was aperfect lamb that bore on sins for us. Christ bore our sins so we can now serveHim because our sins no longer stand in our way once they are forgiven and putunder His blood.

20 It was God’s plan from the beginning for Christ to comeand die. Those who accept Jesus as Lord are predestined for great works. We asbelievers are not to just come to Christ and wait to go to heaven although,many act as if this what they should do.
