0 is the real number 1

Discussion in 'Water Cooler' started by brett siniard, Dec 3, 2017.

  1. I had a Question? Is the number 0 the real number 1? This has been on my mind for a while, and I wanted to share with other people on a spiritual forum what it means. Have we been lied to by the government for some certain reason? If we look at the numerical system, the first number is 0. Has the dial been switched for some certain reason to make it look like the number 1 comes first in everything?

From this, I have came to realize certain beings use that to their advantage. Is every number after 0 (hence 1-infinity) working for the number 0? Since the dial has changed a notch, what does it mean? What are these beings using this for?

I’ve always thought, everything works for the number 0, and we can’t get out of a shape/consciousness existence because we perceive it wrong.

    Any ideas, on this perception?
  2. Greetings @brett siniard

    Welcome to Talk Jesus.

Your post is rather strange and not something that Ive ever thought about.
I have moved it to this forum which is perhaps more appropriate for something off topic like this.

It would be good if you could introduce yourself, in the introductory forum......are you a believer, etc

    Blessings to you

  3. Welcome to Talk Jesus @brett siniard

Nope haven't given it a thought. It was tough enough for me to wrap my mind and spirit around 3 that is 1.

I don't know if you'll find high end mathematicians here at Talk Jesus who would be open to this type of discussion. Not just because it happens to be a Christian site, but that this forum is for the purposes of talking Jesus Christ, ergo the name, and Christian Theology in general.

Hope, while you are here. That you'll take time to give Jesus Christ a chance. Especially since He gave His all to the World.

Otherwise, you are still welcome Brett Siniard!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

  4. For the most of civilized history there was no such thing as zero in mathematics. Since zero means nothing, do you think everyone is working for nothing? I assure you that not everyone is. Those who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are working for the Lord, and He is not zero, He is Infinity.

  5. I have no idea.

But I do know the numerical system including 0 is based on arabic numeration. Roman numerals are different.
My mathemarics is a bit rusty but we do things based on 10s, while some other systems count in lots of 5s.

I have read that, God likes number 7 not just cos it rhymes with heaven.

  6. What a discussion. I am not a mathematician so it doesn't interest me but, Spiritually speaking:
    • Dealing in negatives makes me uneasy, it drags me down and causes most of my problems in life.
    • It makes me happy to think Jesus / God is the Alpha and Omega. He is always positive, never negative so, on a number scale he is somewhere between 0 and infinity and, so will we!

  7. Interesting question. 0 thru 9, the first ten numbers of the Base 10 system. 0 is a point of reference for a beginning. Before you begin counting the apples in the barrel, you begin with an empty barrel, meaning 0 apples are in the barrel. I appreciate notationally, every ten number counts has a zero behind the tenth number. Zero is part of the number set.

  8. Greetings,

I am not a mathematician but here goes,

Have you ever 'climbed' stairs? If not, you're not missing much, unless the stairway is the only way to get somewhere. For this 'picture' I would like to start at the bottom of the stairway.

If you count the stairs as you go up them, the first one you step onto is number 1, then 2 then 3 etc. Where you are standing at the bottom of the stairs is the ground and is not a step/stair. There is no stair anywhere at ground level. so my theory based on this exercise is that 0 doesn't then exist,
Same goes as if you were at ground level and came to a stairway that led down. The first step down is number -1 then number -2, -3 etc. but the ground level is not a stair or step. It exists but it is not a step/stair so therefore does not exist as one, or more correctly as zero.

I know that for convenience sake we like to add it to our counting but it only is put there to somehow define what is not there.
    So, does 0 actually exist?

Many lost souls are content to believe that when you die, that's it. A bit like not existing, being a zero. But please be warned and understand that that is only a convenience way of looking at death.
Death has been made to look like all sorts of both terrible and awful things. Some individuals and cults even like to colour it up and add some queer stuff to it, to make it appear like something it is not in order to entice others into their way of thinking but many poor souls prefer to claim it is an end, rather than a place of beginning or perhaps more correctly, a place of continuation.

    Look at the butterfly...
the caterpillar builds a cocoon and then enters it. After a few days it emerges as a butterfly. At what point did the caterpillar cease to be a caterpillar and at what point did the butterfly become a butterfly? It wasn't the instant it zipped up it's sleeping bag nor the instant it unzipped it. During those few days in it's chrysalis is like the zero stage or place. Neither caterpillar nor butterfly 'exist' but at the same time, they do. Both caterpillar and butterfly are real and are essentially the same wonderful work of the Creator but they have undergone a change.

In the same way, a man in sin is lost in darkness but he exists and is not a zero. Perhaps we could say he is merely a grub. If He enters into the cocoon of the Word of God he will emerge a beautiful butterfly with a newness of life that was previously impossible for him to attain, a new creature and unlike butterflies, he will live forever.

In the beginning was the Word... John 1:1 Note, The Scripture does not say, 'in the beginning was zero'

    Bless you ....><>

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
He came unto His own, and His own received him not.

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
