This is how God sealed covenant, he does with blood. When we sign contracts we use or signatures which makes it legally binding. This is what God has always required of his creation.

1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.

5 And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.

Now Israel decided to quickly break the covenant that was signed in blood. Read Exodus 32 where they made the golden calf. If you break a blood covenant the ones who should die are the ones who went against the agreement. However Moses talked God out of it. However many people lost their lives as a result. There was nothing to take the place of people who sinned against God. So not only did GOD speak the ten commandments, he wrote them down TWICE. This was symbolic because Israel was not going to keep their end of the covenant. Since the old covenant is signed by the blood of bulls and goats, they took the place of men for sin even though they were innocent, this would be a shadow for what Christ would do for man. See Leviticus chapter 4.

Jeremiah 7: 21 - 24
21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

NOT ONE TIME from Exodus 20 to Exodus 24 did the LORD said sacrifice animals for me. He told Israel to obey his voice and keep his commandments (Exodus 20: 1- 17). They did not listen to the words of the covenant. The covenant was signed with blood, so once it was broken then an innocent animal died and they kept ignoring God's command and then proceeded to sacrifice an innocent animal.

THE NEW COVENANT​

It says clearly God will write the laws in our hearts. Israel is God's name so if you confess you're a Christian you should be a spiritual Israelite. Many have a problem with this because of corrupt Hebrews dress in purple but that's a subject for another time.

3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

Paul is confirming what Jeremiah prophesied in the 31st chapter. In the old covenant the children of Israel had to look upon fringes. This covenant is better because now they are literally inside your head.

The issue was with the people, not God's law. The commandments are perfect and God expects us to do our best to walk in them. The ten commandments are the words of both covenants. What changed instead of sprinkling the blood of bulls upon people now everyone has been purchased with the blood of Christ.

Acts 20: 28
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Romans 2: 14 - 15
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

The law is written in everyone’s heart, not just Israel and Paul confirms this because once you join yourself to Israel then you are spiritual Israel. Nobody is going to have an excuse on judgement day. Even an atheist knows not to steal. The new covenant is more binding than the old covenant because in the old covenant they had fringes to remind them to keep the commandments. In the new covenant it’s already in your mind so if you break God’s law you knew exactly what you were doing and don’t try to blame it on the devil either.

Hebrews 9: 1 - 8
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.

This is the tabernacle of the congregation where animals were sacrificed and their blood brought unto the veil. See Exodus 26: 1, 30 - 33

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Nailing the law of animal sacrifice to the cross because the LORD has no pleasure in it. It was suppose to teach man that sin is costly and blood needs to be shed to remit sins.

Hebrews 10: 1 - 10, 18, 26 - 29
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

The grace is the blood of Jesus Christ which we do not deserve that's why it is a free gift. If we spit on Jesus Christ offering his body for sin and continue to sin then the lake of fire awaits.

Romans 6: 1 - 2
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

So the covenant that was signed with the blood of animals was remove and replaced by the blood of Christ.

I don't know if you're going to like my response or not, but it is simply this. The Old Covenant is not replaced by the New Covenant. And I'm well aware about the parable about the wine skins. I'm not talking about that so much. What I am talking about is that Jesus stated. I'm not here to do away with the law but to fulfill the law. And that is the way it is with the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament was to teach us and prepare us for the New Testament. Think of it like a greenhouse. You put seeds into the greenhouse to protect them. They grow and they become small plants that grow for a while. Then you take those plans and what the dirt that's already with the roots you plant them into a garden. You don't remove all the dirt off the Roots but you want to keep as much as the original dirt in with the roots so that they can become more familiar with the dirt that's in the garden.

Well if you are aware of the parable then I am not sure why you say the old covenant was not replaced by the new covenant. The old and new covenant can't both be in place at the same time.

Now your green house analogy does in fact make sense because the key difference between the old and new covenant is whose blood was being shed. If no blood is shed sins cannot be remitted.

Hebrews 9: 16
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Right kind of like insurance. If I have life insurance of a million dollars then my benefactor cannot get it while I am alive. I would need to be dead for them to claim it. So while Jesus was alive the New testament was not in force. Since Jesus died that put the new testament in force which completely replaced the blood of bulls and goat.

18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

We get baptized in the name of Jesus because his blood can purge sins, the blood of bulls and goats can't which is why no man is justified by the law of animal sacrifice. So the blood of bulls and goats was replaced by the blood of Jesus and it literally says this in the scriptures.

In the gospel and John the first chapter it says. In the beginning the Word was with God and the Word was God.

Now this particular series of verses proves that Jesus is God and he also came Among Us. As John is using the term "the Word" (Jesus).

And Paul states in Romans 2:13-14,
For when gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, are said to be the law, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts.

In this case with Paul when he's talking about the law. He's talking not only about the word of God, but he's talking about Jesus who is "the law".

What i am saying, in these instances ( and this is why I made the comment about the old wineskin and the new wineskin, or the Old Testament and the New Testament) where in John the term "the Word" and in Paul (Romans) "the Law" are both words representing Jesus.

And we who are Christains recognize the fact that the Bible itself is the word of Jesus, and all of the word of Jesus should be listened to and not done away with.

This is why Jesus states, I am not here to do away with the law, but to fulfill the law.

Because Jesus is the Law and the Word.

Ok I see where you are coming from but Jesus is the law giver. He spoke the law. Do you have any scriptures to support that Jesus himself is the law? For example Jesus said "I am LORD of the Sabbath" he did not say he is the Sabbath. My understanding is that he is called the Word of God because he speak the Father's word and he said his words are spirit and they are life. So this entire bible is Jesus giving us the words of the Father.

I'm no expert but this distinction seems very important as to whom God makes the old and new covenants with. God Himself does not change. The old covenant wasn't with gentiles (as seen in MT 15:24). In the new covenant Israel is the believing Jews and grafted in gentiles. The leaving out of Judah could indicate that non-believing Jews are cut off after choosing to reject Jesus.

In the new covenant God didn't put the laws on stone tablets for Jews only but in our minds and hearts for all. Cold legal commands carved in stone "thou shalt not murder, thou shalt not covet..." become a knowledge in the mind and warm promises in the heart that with the Holy Spirit helping "thou shalt not murder, thou shalt not covet...".

Here it is in action. Glory to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit!

Exodus 24: 1 - 8
1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.

2 And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do.

4 And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord.

6 And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

Moses said "Behold the blood of the covenant" In other words the blood of the agreement. What was the agreement again? That they would keep the 10 commandments. This is how God sealed covenant, he does with blood. When we sign contracts we use or signatures which makes it legally binding. This is what God has always required of his creation.

Exodus 34: 1, 4 - 5, 27 - 28
1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.

5 And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.

27 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.

28 And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.


Now Israel decided to quickly break the covenant that was signed in blood. Read Exodus 32 where they made the golden calf. If you break a blood covenant the ones who should die are the ones who went against the agreement. However Moses talked God out of it. However many people lost their lives as a result. There was nothing to take the place of people who sinned against God. So not only did GOD speak the ten commandments, he wrote them down TWICE. This was symbolic because Israel was not going to keep their end of the covenant. Since the old covenant is signed by the blood of bulls and goats, they took the place of men for sin even though they were innocent, this would be a shadow for what Christ would do for man. See Leviticus chapter 4.

Jeremiah 7: 21 - 24
21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

NOT ONE TIME from Exodus 20 to Exodus 24 did the LORD said sacrifice animals for me. He told Israel to obey his voice and keep his commandments (Exodus 20: 1- 17). They did not listen to the words of the covenant. The covenant was signed with blood, so once it was broken then an innocent animal died and they kept ignoring God's command and then proceeded to sacrifice an innocent animal.

THE NEW COVENANT​

Jeremiah 31: 31 - 34
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

It says clearly God will write the laws in our hearts. Israel is God's name so if you confess you're a Christian you should be a spiritual Israelite. Many have a problem with this because of corrupt Hebrews dress in purple but that's a subject for another time.

Hebrews 8: 3, 6 - 11
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Paul is confirming what Jeremiah prophesied in the 31st chapter. In the old covenant the children of Israel had to look upon fringes. This covenant is better because now they are literally inside your head.

The issue was with the people, not God's law. The commandments are perfect and God expects us to do our best to walk in them. The ten commandments are the words of both covenants. What changed instead of sprinkling the blood of bulls upon people now everyone has been purchased with the blood of Christ.

Acts 20: 28
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Romans 2: 14 - 15
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

The law is written in everyone’s heart, not just Israel and Paul confirms this because once you join yourself to Israel then you are spiritual Israel. Nobody is going to have an excuse on judgement day. Even an atheist knows not to steal. The new covenant is more binding than the old covenant because in the old covenant they had fringes to remind them to keep the commandments. In the new covenant it’s already in your mind so if you break God’s law you knew exactly what you were doing and don’t try to blame it on the devil either.

Hebrews 9: 1 - 8
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.

3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;

4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.

7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

This is the tabernacle of the congregation where animals were sacrificed and their blood brought unto the veil. See Exodus 26: 1, 30 - 33

Colossians 2: 14
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Nailing the law of animal sacrifice to the cross because the LORD has no pleasure in it. It was suppose to teach man that sin is costly and blood needs to be shed to remit sins.

Hebrews 10: 1 - 10, 18, 26 - 29
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. (The LORD conformed this in Jeremiah 7: 21 - 24)

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; (it was a law because God made the children of Israel do it everytime they broke the ten commandments)

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

The grace is the blood of Jesus Christ which we do not deserve that's why it is a free gift. If we spit on Jesus Christ offering his body for sin and continue to sin then the lake of fire awaits.

Romans 6: 1 - 2
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

So the covenant that was signed with the blood of animals was remove and replaced by the blood of Christ.

The Bible itself says old and new "covenant", rather than old and new testament; "testament" is likely KJV English for covenant, which is a good example of why using KJV instead of modern English can be confusing.

The old covenant refers to God's law. The new covenant is grace. The New Testament clearly teaches in Romans, Hebrews, Galatians and Colossians, that those who have the spirit of Jesus "are not under law, but under grace."

“...how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain." -- Galatians 4:8-11

The dragon which is Satan is mad at people for keeping the commandments. So that is exactly what I will do. My goal is to please Christ not the dragon.

Psalm 119: 151
151 Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth.
Jesus brought his atoning blood and the 10 commandments. He already told you "think not I am come to destroy the law" In fact Christ doubled down on his law.

If you actually read the thread you will notice that Paul is speaking of them not being under the law of animal sacrifice. Peter read Paul's epsitles and warned everyone about it. The keys to the kingdom was left to Peter. Let's see what he has to say.

2 Peter 3: 15 - 16
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

The Levites could die, Melchisedec does not die and this individual is Jesus. The Levites job was to sacrifice animals, if you re not sacrificing animals then the Levites don't have a job anymore because the veil of the temple ripped from top to bottom. They sprinkled blood before the veil and the 10 commandments were not on the veil.

Again referring to the sacrificial law and the prophet wrote this before Paul and he said Christ will cause the sacrifice and oblation to stop. No prophet said Christ would do away with the royal law.

Daniel 9: 27
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,

Taking even more of Paul's writing out of context and twisting it to your own destruction mate.

Romans 7: 7, 10
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

Yes the commandments are ordained unto life, which is why Jesus said to keep it if you want eternal life. If you are not going to listen to Jesus we got nothing else to talk about mate. Jesus died for me but sounds like Paul is your savior here.

1 Corinthians 1: 13
13 Is Christ divided?

No Christ is not divided, which is why I asked you in another thread to show me the prophets prophesying that Jesus would nail the 10 commandments to the cross and you still have not done so. All apostles and prophets are on one accord. If Moses said to keep the law then Paul is preaching the same thing, they are not divided.

was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Now teach that we don't need to keep the commandments without using Paul epistles.

If you want to fall from grace and try to perfectly obey God in order to be saved, that's your choice. But leave me and Paul out. You can't ignore what Romans, Galatians, Colossians and Hebrews clearly teach about not being under the law, but under grace and, claim to believe the Bible.
