John 4:27-30,39-42 NASB1995: At this point His disciples came, and they were amazed that He had been speaking with a woman, yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why do You speak with her?” So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men, “Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?” They went out of the city, and were coming to Him…

From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.” So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. Many more believed because of His word; and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”

I just love this passage of Scripture! First, I love how Jesus spent time talking with this woman who he knew to be a Samaritan, who Jews usually did not associate with, who he knew to be a woman, and who he knew had had several husbands and the one she was presently living with was not her husband. He took time with her to gently explain to her the truth of who he was, and the truth of the gospel of our salvation, and what the future held for all who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ to be Lord of their lives.

Not only that, but he intentionally asked her to call for her husband, knowing that she did not have a husband, but in order to open a further conversation with her with regard to what was coming next, after Jesus’ death and resurrection (although he did not specifically mention that). He let her know that the worship of God would no longer be in any specific physical location, but that we would worship God “in spirit and in truth,” in our inner beings, via biblical faith in Jesus Christ. And he let her know he was the Messiah.

But Jesus’ intention went beyond just sharing with her the gospel and to let her know that he was the Messiah, the Christ who was to come. For he who knew all about her knew that she would then go and tell the people of her town, including the men (or primarily or only the men), all about her conversation with Jesus, and that she would invite them to come and see the one who is the Christ. And he knew that, because of the woman’s testimony, that many people would believe in Jesus as the Savior of the world.

So, Jesus didn’t ignore her because she was a woman, or because she was a sinful woman, but he spoke with her gently, and he taught her the truth of the gospel, and then he used her to bring many more people to faith in Jesus Christ, because he knew that she would believe him, and that she would spread the good news to the people, including to men, and that because of her testimony many more people would trust in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of their lives. And that is awesome!! She was willing!

And that truly ministers to me because I am a woman, and I did have a time in my life when I was out of the will of God, but God didn’t give up on me, and he brought me back, and then he sent me to the internet to share with the world the truth of the Scriptures and the gospel of our salvation, in truth, in the manner in which Jesus and his New Testament apostles taught it, and not how it is so commonly being taught today in a very twisted way which does not represent the true gospel of our salvation from sin.

And this ministers to me, too: For all the times in my life where I was walking by faith, and I was obeying God, which was the majority of my life, I kept getting mistreated by men, many of them serving as pastors, who had no regard for me, for I was a woman and I didn’t have credentials that made me important in their sight. And so some of them misjudged me because of my sincerity of faith in the Lord and my seriousness of purpose in speaking the word of the Lord, and many of them just cast me aside as a nobody.

But Jesus did not! He loved me! And he had a plan and a purpose for my life, just as he did for the woman at the well. And it was to use me to share the truths of God’s word with the people of the world, which includes men, via writing down what he is teaching me each day during my times spent with him in his word, and placing these writings on the internet for anyone to read who will read what the Lord gives me to write. So, although I was mostly rejected by men, God called me, and he is using me for his glory.

Any "Christian who believes that God does not call women to preach or teach does not know the Word...They do, however know churchianity doctrine. By denying women the right to preach/teach the church allows satan to disempower a full half of the church.

Not to be pastors above men an in authority over them in the church.
Joyce Meyer? Heretic.
Any female that does MUST have the approval of a pastor behind her. She is to teach OTHER women and children and only when approved.

Priscilla - With Paul and Aquila
Phoebe - Paul
Lydia - Partnered with male missionaries.

If you think "women can do everything in the church but men cannot," then you're the one who's misunderstood.
God created Adam FIRST.
God brought Eve TO Adam not the other way around.
God -> Man -> Woman

To whom are you responding? If to me, you are not responding to what I wrote, for your comment is not related to what I wrote.

You made this topic. I responded to it and it IS on topic.
I didn't write a topic. I wrote a devotion (a study of the Scriptures) based off a passage of Scripture with a specific message in it. And "Jesus Calls Women, Too," does not automatically translate to what you wrote, which is off topic. What you are doing is taking words out of context and building your own message around them, like many people today take Scriptures out of context, and they make them say what they do not say if taught in the correct biblical context. So, I am asking you to respond to what I wrote, not to what you think Jesus calling women should be understood to mean without the proper context. And the context is Jesus' encounter with the woman at the well, and how he treated her, and how he talked with her and ministered to her, and then used her as his messenger to the people of her town, many of whom came to faith in Jesus Christ because of what he said to her, and because of her faith response to him, the Messiah. That is the message we should be focusing on here. Sue Love

Nope.
Women are NOT called to be "pastors" and over men in the church.
You don't LIKE it.
Messenger is nowhere near "pastor" or leader of a church.
Angels are messengers. Anyone can be a messenger.
The requirements for pastor are CLEAR.

The God ordained head of the family is the man.
Faithful personal and family life – manages household well; morally faithful
(1 Tim 3:4–5; Titus 1:6)

Be the husband of one wife (faithful, morally loyal)
1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:6

Nowhere in this writing did I suggest that women are to serve as pastors in authority over men. This was about women sharing the gospel with the people of the world, which all of us are to do. And it talked about writing devotions (bible studies) and placing them on the internet for anyone to read which has nothing to do with women being pastors in authority over men. No male is made to read what I post and what I post has no authority over anyone except for the Scriptures. If a man reads what I post he does that by his own choice.

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself...

Priscilla & Aquila
"Receive my greetings in Christ Jesus, my co-workers in Christ. They risked their lives for me...

Greet Mary, who has worked very hard for you.".

Deborah a prophetess and judge who led Israel.

Tabitha/Dorcas Known for good works and charity, ministering to the needy.

Many can't separate a building from a Church they still just see the physicals of the world no spiritual insight sadly..

Many follow man blindly because they claim a title like pastor rent or buy a building n repeats words that one can read themselves those that appointment themselves only do half the job of a true pastor to feed themselves n their own..
Lord is calling his children out of them synagogues of satan

Hope all's well!

Twistie, thank you. Indeed He is!

Fun fact!
In Numbers 12, Miriam (along with Aaron) spoke against Moses and challenged his authority as God’s chosen leader. As a result, Miriam was struck with leprosy as a visible punishment. The text says that when God’s presence lifted from the tent, “Miriam became leprous, white as snow.”

Why not Aaron? She was out of line AND out of place.
NO person, especially women EVER include this in their argument about her. EVER.

Aaron was involved but was not struck. Huh. Interesting.

Anyone can read a Bible and repeat it to others. It doesn't help. Understanding it and teaching it correctly is key.
Most pastors are men as they should be given by God. I will NEVER support any female "pastor".
How can any person "spread the Gospel" if they aren't trained and educated in it?

"What does x mean?" and "Why?" have been the two MOST common questions in all of humanity regardless of age, sex, location, culture, etc".

We know that every woman who at least is somewhat learned of God and the Bible can't have an ordained pastor follow her around and when she's online. BUT....
She MUST have a pastor she uses as her authority.
I reference my pastor and a Dr. John Barnett" both of whom have been pastors for at least 40 years.

Even then, the Bible is the source. It's why Bibles in some shape or form are everywhere and at large free.
No male is made to read what I post and what I post has no authority over anyone except for the Scriptures. If a man reads what I post he does that by his own choice.

So many have been programmed to argue n debate and to teach the Word they forgot we are family they forgot there are older brothers n sisters n they lack respect and love towards others especially the elder the young ones want to point out especially the males we in charge we teach we lead they don't teach to respect the elders to listen to their stories n the wisdom that the Lord bestowed upon them..they don't tell th young boys n girls these here are your sisters these here are your brothers..treat the older people like ya would ya momma n poppa love them the same..
They want the latter results.. without looking inwards so to say..

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted...

entreat the elder women as mothers" and younger women as sisters..

People just too busy memorizing words they don't eat n swallow the Word..

Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

Sad fact is most don't even care to seek who they are in Him they give n answer like oh I'm a child of God which is true but who? who? are you in Him is what I ask..

It's all written one just gotta have the heart to seek.. ya know? Anywho

Hope All's well!!

May the peace of the Lord rest upon you!

So many have NOT taken their God-given role in the church, especially women.

If God said, "insert role here" to women what right do they are anyone have to state otherwise? By what authority can anyone tell God, "No." and think what they're doing IS of God.

Just b/c someone, man or woman, has a Bible doesn't mean they were called to preach it or they know what they're doing.

Twistie, thank you for your encouraging words. I am old, 76 years old, and my body has seen better days. Looks like I might have spinal stenosis, which fits with the suffering I have been having in my body for some time now, and which is getting worse. I tire and wear out easily. But God is my strength and my support and he keeps me going. I hope all is well with you.

"MedicBravo", I dedicate Saint Matthew chapter 23 in its entirety to you and your Doc (and the Orthodoxy I suppose), because Christ is The Word, and not whatever personal interpretation of the Holy Bible you and yours have. The LORD is The Authority.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Remember... Simon the ex-sorcerer tried to buy Apostolic power in Acts 8:18-24. I suppose the "doctorate" your pastor was given to preach with more authority than faith and literacy was free... because if not, he bought it and so did the doctor's followers; The Word in Acts 8 calls it a sin.

The LORD Christ's admonition in Saint Matthew chapter 7 is essential here:

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, "Lord, Lord", shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?"

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The worst of this thread is you are also falsely accusing sister Sue. Her post is unmistakable, and you persistently ignored it all.
She gives testimony of The LORD Christ Our God a freely as any of His children must. Sister Sue is innocent here.
Heaven is not for sale.
Also, since you have a pa$tor, in the spirit of the parable of the ten virgins, I now Block/Ignore thee. The LORD rebuke the malcontent spirit within you and yours; and may Christ have mercy on you.

Twistie, I used to go to doctors regularly, took their medicines, and did what they said, and it did me a great deal of harm to my body. The Lord led me in 2008, I think it was, to stop taking all medicines, so I did. Normally I go to the doc once a year for an annual well visit where they do blood tests which always come out fine and then I don't go back until the next year unless I need someone to flush my ears, for they get stopped up about once a year with ear wax. But this past September I had heart attack symptoms and I felt it was the right thing to go to the ER, so I did, and then there has been one test after another since then, but I believed God's hands were in this and he had a purpose for it, so I just followed his guidance. I have my lines I will not cross, and one of those is I don't take drugs, even if I am in pain. The Lord helps me through it all. And it was nice here in SC today, as well. We have had some really cold weather for SC this past week or so. Thank you for your encouraging words.

Admon, thank you for your supportive comment. I do believe that women are not to teach (instruct) men in a position of authority over men to where they are able to exercise discipline over men, and that they should not be elders (overseers), except if there is not a spiritually qualified male to fill the position. But the Scriptures do teach that women will prophesy, and the word means to preach, to proclaim the word of God. And we do have biblical instances where women did proclaim the word of God in mixed company, where both males and females were present. And there is a reason that God had Peter declare the words of the prophet Joel on the day of Pentecost where both men and women were prophesying publicly, and where he stated that in the last days that both God's sons and his daughters, both male and female would prophesy (preach, speak the words of the Lord to the people). And if there are not enough spiritual men who are walking in obedience to the Lord to share the truth of the gospel to the people, and so God calls women to the frontlines because someone needs to be telling the people the truth which will save their souls from hell, then to God be the glory. But women should not usurp authority over men. But on a public platform, such as this, where both male and female are present, women do have the right to speak the truth of God's word to the people, and no male is being forced to listen to any female.

Dear Brother,
Sister Sue is correct in her evaluation of what you did as it pertains to what she wrote (post#8). You extrapolated it to mean what was not meant by her devotional. You should apologize to her and move on.

I've apologized in my time here more than once brother. It is the right thing to do.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
