Their complaint is about those illegally in Florida being removed. If they are not here legally, they must obey the law and go home to their own country. An online article starts:
"Some Latino pastors feel betrayed by the government’s harsh enforcement efforts, as worship leaders disappear and congregants stay home."
continuing "But in Florida, which has become the leading edge of red-state efforts to match Trump’s aggressive policies with hard-line local enforcement, Hispanic church leaders say their communities are living in shock from a double threat."
continuing "Florida lawmakers have made a point of outdoing the rest of the country in cracking down on immigrants. In February, Republican governor Ron DeSantis signed a set of bills lawmakers had developed in consultation with the Trump administration."
The Bible makes it crystal clear that the people of God are to obey the laws of the land. It is hypocritical to distinguish bad law-breakers from good law-breakers in enforcing the immigration laws. My friend and companion worked for 12 years in order to become an American citizen, because he did it LEGALLY. Why should anyone be allowed to live here illegally?
From God's word -
"My child, fear the LORD and the king, and do not disobey either of them" (Pro 24:21 NRSVue)
"For the Lord’s sake be subject to every human authority, whether to the emperor as supreme or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing right you should silence the ignorance of the foolish. As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil. Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor." (1Pe 2:13-17 NRSVue)
"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct but to bad. Do you wish to have no fear of the authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive its approval, for it is God’s agent for your good. But if you do what is wrong, you should be afraid, for the authority does not bear the sword in vain! It is the agent of God to execute wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be subject, not only because of wrath but also because of conscience. For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s agents, busy with this very thing. Pay to all what is due them: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due." (Rom 13:1-7 NRSVue)
