"And now the LORD your God has given rest to your brethren, as He promised them; now therefore, return and go to your tents [and] to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of the Jordan. "But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul." Joshua 22:4-5 NKJV

The Israelite tribes on the eastern side of the Jordan River had put their lives and the security of their families on the line by crossing to the western shore with the other tribes. Yet, as they returned home, they were still reminded to obey God’s commands, to follow the law, and to love the Lord.

While past events can serve as inspiration or assurance for the future, each day you can choose between obeying God’s commands and receiving God’s love, or seeking your comfort and direction somewhere else. Even after you’ve been recognized for your faith and selflessness, a few selfish choices can send you off course. Your obedience matters a great deal today, and if you have started to veer off course, remember to return to God as quickly as possible.

Prayer: Lord, help me to return to Your love and mercy so that I can obey Your commands.

Today this morning I remembered a long time ago when I was young, I do not remember after I received the Holy Ghost or before. I Was thinking about doing right or wrong and I said to myself, God would never tell me to do anything wrong, And everything he wants me to do, is better than what I want to do. So let me do it the way, HE wants me to do it! I cannot, but come out on top. He will not tell me to do something that would cause me Harm, no matter how unsuccessful it may appear! So that woman or girl I want, but I know it is wrong. So I am going to do what GOD wants me to do! I am going to come out on top, I am going to leave her along. I Think that was before I was converted. And now I read , your post and it came to mind a again. So what was good for yesterday is also Good for today!
