Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips I have avoided the ways of the violent (the paths of the destroyer). My steps have held closely to Your paths [to the tracks of the One Who has gone on before]; my feet have not slipped. Psalm 17:4-5 AMPC

Have you made God your personal quest? King David did. He rejected conventional adventure and accepted one that was born in his soul. David was bold in his declaration, courageous in his pursuit, and confident in his Guide.

It’s easy to second-guess God because He does things differently than you do. And because you don’t always understand what He’s doing, it can mean the application of internal brakes, the halting of what you should do, and a hesitancy of the heart that leaves blessings delayed.

Never let conventional wisdom stand in the way of God’s plans. Follow hard after a good God. Exercise spiritual mobility, and use the Bible, which is God’s life GPS.

Giving up is never your best option unless it’s giving up on doing things your own way. God’s plan for you is simple, even when you think it’s complex. He knows where you need to go and what you need to do, so it’s simple—just follow Him. Or you could make things complex and second-guess or resist His guidance.

Prayer: Lord, remembering that You know what You’re doing is important. I don’t want to take more steps using only my own wisdom and miss the adventure You’ve planned for me.

H ello there @Christ4Ever

Thank you for entering this. My thoughts go to the words of Job in (Job 23:10)

'But he knoweth the way that I take:
when He hath tried me,
I shall come forth as gold.'

* and also, (Isa 50:10)

'Who is among you that feareth the LORD,
that obeyeth the voice of his servant,
that walketh in darkness, and hath no light?
let him trust in the name of the LORD,
and stay upon his God.'

* Over the last year and a half, I have watched my sister, now in her eighties, cope with the death of her husband. She has felt very much that she has been walking in darkness, not knowing the way ahead. For her husband had been very much the head of the house, and dealt with everything necessary for their daily living. So that she was now having to consider matters which before were dealt with for her. That, with ill health, and the loneliness have been hard to cope with. However, I can testify to the Lord's faithful enabling, and the strength that has been there, daily, for her to draw on. She has got to know the Lord experiencially, and has found Him to be a very present help in her time of trial. Each morning she asks Him to order her day aright, and to be her strength, and He has been. Bringing into her life, people and circumstances that have lifted her spirits and been a blessing. The lessons have been hard, but the consolation of the Lord's presence have been greater. All praise to the glory of His love and grace!! It has been a privilage and a joy to be a witness of the process that has taken place, to His glory.

In Christ Jesus
Chris
