A sister in Christ that fell away from God...

Member
There was this sister in Christ in my church who I will refer to as J. Sister J was a humble person, who served as an usher in my church. When I first became a Christian, Sister J was the only one who bother to befriend me. She was also friendly to all new-comers in church. She would also do the job which no one like to do, for the church, such as clearing up the vomits that would come after a deliverance session.

However, she had one flaw. She was too frank with her words and as a result, not many people in the church like her. Sister J, however, told me that she did not mind as it was God whom she was serving. She also told me that it was God who promoted the people, and therefore God promoted her to be a leader in the usher ministry. One day, sister J stopped coming to the church and the pastor told me to forget about her. I couldn't forget about her, though. She was my friend and she was such a humble sister. Why did she stop coming to church?

I contacted sister J, contrary to the wishes of my pastor. She told me not to contact her anymore as she no longer believed in God. I told her we could still be friend outside of church even if she did not believe in God anymore. She then told me that she did not want to stumble me in my faith with God and the pastor had told her not to contact anyone in church. She stopped contacting me, and until today, I had not seen her.

The question I posed to all of you is, why did such a humble sister who would do the odd job no one ever bothered to do in church fall away from Jesus? I soon found out why. Sister J's entire family committed suicide and she was upset with God. Furthermore, instead of emphasizing with her and offering support for her grief, the church rebuked her for her lack of faith in God and asked her to put her priorities right in God.

I mean, why should she not question God when her entire family, not at the same time, one by one, committed suicide? How many people could choose not to question God at a moment such as this? The church ought to offer her support, both emotionally and financially but instead, chose to ask her to set her priorities right. Most of the church people's lives were blessed and without problem and therefore, they did not question God. It was easy for them to judge her, but if their shoe had been the same as her, would they not question God, too?

Sometimes, when we are blessed, it is easy for us to forget those who are suffering in Christ. We look at these people with judgmental eyes and forget that Christ died for them and love them just as much as he love us. We fail to put ourselves in the shoes of those who are suffering. We question their sincerities for God when we ought to stand behind them in their time of need.

Satan is very crafty. He knows he cannot stand against us if we are united and therefore, he does not attack everyone at the same time. Instead, he shoots his dart at the most vulnerable, the one whom he thinks the church will not support if he or she falls away. One by one, he takes away the vulnerable and when we ignore the vulnerable in church, his strategies succeed. The church does not decrease in size over-night.

Instead, it is the one individual Christian who leaves church that we do not care about, that slowly adds up to the church's demise. We think it is only one person the church loses, but many such 'one' individual adds up to a large sum.

If we have been united as a body of Christ and go all out to stand behind every 'one' such individual who falls away from church, Satan will not have been successful in his tactics as there is strength in numbers. However, we ignore the merely 'one' sister or brother who falls away, and our selfishness gives strength to the devil.

Is it a wonder that church is almost empty these days? Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Jesus cares for the 'one' sheep that falls astray more than He worries about the 99 sheep that are safe in the sheep-pen. He talks about how he finds more joy in finding that one sheep back more than He does the 99 who does not stray.

Shouldn't we do the same as Him? Today, try to contact all the individual brother or sister who used to attend your church but who you no longer see in church. If they cannot be contacted, or if they do not want to be contacted, pray for them. Do not stop praying for them unless you see them in church again or know somehow that they are still serving Jesus somewhere in another church.

Let not lose any more one 'individual' to Satan today! I am still praying for sister J, even though it had been 20 years ago when she fell away. Join me in my prayers for her and the many Christian who no longer walk with God! We need to love one another like Jesus loves us!

It is simple, church is not your savior, when a new christian comes to Christ, that christian becomes to depended upon pastor, church members and thinking they are trusting and leaning on Christ, the one that saved them. they are not. The need to stay in The Word, and spend less time with church members and church attendance. "Come Out from among them"! "a Little leaven will spoils the meal" "Nominal Christians" spoils and contaminate Truth Christians in the Church settings, Simple, read and Believe the BOOK. Trust not men and women, "TRUST THE WORD" and It will not fail you, church people will.

So when trouble comes and it will, Hard troubles! Do not look for support from other christians and the church! It will not work for "True christians", but it will work for "Nominal christians" let them trust in that place. "Our trust and comfort comes from "Christ Alone". "Christ Alone". To trust in any other, I say in any other's, is out right "IDOLATRY"in this day and age. For If your trust is in "Christ Alone" and The "Parakletos", meaning your are Abiding in "The Vine". and he will keep you. and "Comfort you" But if your trust is in any others, then you will see The others can not comfort you. But they will trouble you>
Christ does not need a another person to come to your aid in all of Your Crisis. He is ABLE, I know he is Able over 44 years and I have watch others, I have watch many, The route, is Trust Him and Him alone. One must wean themselves off quickly the institutional church body.

You must cover yourself with every word and every story in the Book, that you remember them all, For the Word is the One that will come to your aid. It takes a lot more than prayer. You must be full to capacity with the written WORD and That written Word will become Living In You and that "WORD" in You will Come to Your aid in time of Need and never fail you. Churches and Christians will! But The Written WORD in You, Will never fail you where you have to run to another for advice and comfort. when you sit alone it keeps you company, it talks to you, it comforts you it loves you it hugs you, it gives you sweet sleep, it rocks you to sleep, it sings to you in the longly night hours. It keeps you company in the darks and in the weakest hours. you need no body, But "Christ ALONE" I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! I am A "ELDER" for over 44 years! I watch other christians come and go! I have watch all kinds of Christians. who have lead all kinds of christian lives! I have watch some suffered in pain, watch many watch them and their love ones killed and die in many ways. Mothers sons and daughters and die in all kinds of ways.

Read your bible and stop those part time church bible classes and Sunday schools and listening to these "jack leggit" preachers and take that time and read your Bible from front to back and know it, every page!

These are troubling times

NASB 1995 (Micah 7:5)
Do not trust in a neighbor; Do not have confidence in a friend. From her who lies in your bosom Guard your lips.

Psalm 41:9
Even my close friend whom I trusted, the one who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Psalm 141:3
Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.

Jeremiah 9:4
"Let everyone guard against his neighbor; do not trust any brother, for every brother deals craftily, and every friend spreads slander.

Lamentations 1:2
She weeps aloud in the night, with tears upon her cheeks. Among all her lovers there is no one to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.

You must know The times we are living in, Read your Bible and not the books that are writing about the words in the Book. :pensive:
We are in hard times, "Behold the Fig tree, all the trees their branches and Their leaves"

"These are the times when The Love of many will
[has] grow cold."
We are in The JUDGMENT. Not the beginning of sorrows, that time has come and gone.
Now, you got to know. where we are at. It is only found in THE BOOK, and The LORD has To reveal it to you. There are no such things as codes in there. It must be revealed, and only The faithful, the Lord will, reveal it to:pensive:.

Hello @Chongshipei,

The story you have told us is a sad one, and I am sorry that the outcome for the lady concerned was a loss of faith.
* Paul when praying for the Ephesian believers in Ephesians 3:14-21, prayed:-

'For this cause
I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
.. Of Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
.... That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
...... to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
........ That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
.. May be able to comprehend with all saints
.... what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
...... And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
........ that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
.. above all that we ask or think,
.... according to the power that worketh in us,
...... Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus
........ throughout all ages, world without end.
.......... Amen.'

* We all need that strengthening.
* Looking at what prompted the words, 'for this cause,' at the beginning of this prayer, we need to go back to chapter 2:11-22-

'Wherefore remember,
.. that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh,
.... who are called Uncircumcision
...... by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That at that time ye were without Christ,
.. being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
.... and strangers from the covenants of promise,
...... having no hope, and without God in the world:
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off
.. are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
.... For He is our peace,
...... Who hath made both one,
........ and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
.......... Having abolished in His flesh the enmity,
............ even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;
.............. for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
................ And that He might reconcile both unto God
.................. in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
And came and preached peace to you which were afar off,
.. and to them that were nigh.
.... For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
...... Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,
........ but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
.......... And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
............ Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone;
.............. In Whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
................ In Whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.'

* How wonderful is that!?
* It was, 'for this cause,' that Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers. The first prayer he prayed for them is in chapter 1:17 onwards, and both these prayers need to be prayed for all the members of the Body of Christ, wherever they may be.

Thank you

You are so right "Complete".
Your Quote:
"The story you have told us is a sad one, and I am sorry that the outcome for the lady concerned was a loss of faith."

But Let us rejoice. And you know why.

Because, There is a "Shepherd", that go's out and leave The "99" and finds The lost "Sheep". And He never looses, not even one. He is "The Good Shepherd"

And we know He Never Fails, To Finds That which is His. He always recover That SHEEP, that The Father, has given Him.:pensive: And do we Worry, "Heck naw"!
Because we know. But, They might not know, The Lost Sheep, for it became lost, But We Know!
American Standard Version
because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Berean Study Bible

Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.

And since we are One Body One Flock and not many, But ONE.

Berean Standard Bible
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Berean Literal Bible

And Jesus, having seen their faith, says to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
{
the paralytic never ask for his sins to be forgiven}

We must remember, The real deal, we are not! "NOMINAL CHRISTIANS" who only knows The flesh. They Have no idea what that is "SPIRITUAL" for we do not have to be there in The flesh, for we are everywhere a True Child of the LIVING GOD is! For THERE IS ONLY "ONE BODY" ONE LORD, ONE FAITH. YOU Could not separate us , if you tried. It is impossible. For all, are sealed into one Body. Those who really are His.

"Am I, my Brother's keeper" I am not a brother to this world neither are we brothers or sisters to "Nominal Christians". But it is shame that many of our own True Brothers and Sisters that aren't mature enough to Know this Truth, and walk in it! "Nominal christians" do not belong to GOD! And the devil loves them, and use them, to cause, The true ones, to Stumble and fall! But We know;

If I had not a Bible, and knew it, The Church would have destroyed me a long time ago, beyond repair like millions of others, since it began. But still, if it was not for Her, The church, I would have never known "Jesus":pensive:

Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but THE LORD delivers him from them all.

Job 5:19
HE WILL rescue you from six calamities; no harm will touch you in seven.

Psalm 37:24
Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, for the LORD is holding his hand.

And who knows whether "The LORD" is weaning the lady off from The Institutional Church body.

For She might be a powerful enemy against the demonic forces. The Devils tries their best to destroy those kind of "SAINTS' he likes the weak and soft ones they are no threats. "The Kisses of The enemy is deceitful" "He appears as an Angel of Light" But powerful ones against his "spiritual" forces, he hates them and tries to destroy them, if they cannot get to them, The devil and demons go after their families, Their love ones. Known Fact, through out the whole Bible teaches this. Churches do not! They do not equip you for "WARFARE" on The front Line, GOD has Too! And When He Trains You, It becomes "Private Lessons Training". PLT.

New American Standard Bible
A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;

2 Samuel 22:35
He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
Psalm 18:2,31
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower…

When the Book is in you, The WORD comes to Your rescue, It becomes Living, For it IS A LIVE! No need to ask the pastor no need to be at the doors of a building, nor counsels of the ungodly. For you are THE TEMPLE OF GOD AND HE DWELLS IN YOU AND NOT A BUILDING!
AND NO One can convince you of any other. Grow Richly In the WORD, let it Become a part of You, Let it be in your Blood and run through your veins and not room enough for nothing else, But BE Full And RICH in GODS WORD! When you got "GOD" who needs any other Counsel or Comfort!

"Scripture Alone" "GOD Alone" "Christ ALONE" "Grace Alone" "Faith Alone" "Soli DEO gloria" (Glory to GOD Alone]

The church cannot save you The church cannot comfort you, The church cannot rest assure you, The church cannot rescue you. The Church cannot keep you company It only gives "Whitewash". "BANDAIDS"! "Child of GOD" Listen There is Only One GOD, One LORD, One Faith, One deliver, for YOU! He is not the god of "The Nominal christians" He is Your GOD! Your FATHER! Your Father and Not theirs! For The LORD did Not Put You into The pastors hands or the Churches hands! You are Too "Precious" for HIM to trust you with any other, but His own hands.

John 10 KIV
"My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
and I GIVE them ETERNAL LIFE; and "THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH", Neither Shall Any MAN pluck them out of my hand
My Father, Which GAVE THEM TO ME, is Greater Than ALL; and NO MAN! is ABLE to pluck them out of My FATHER"S hand
I and My FATHER are One"

Modern day christians gives the creature the clay too much power! Where The creatures have none! For JESUS got It ALL! "ALL POWER"! And If A child of God do not know that in Their Soul, something is awfully Wrong!:pensive:
