Matt 10:1; Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
Matt 10:5; These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: "Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans;
Matt 10:6; but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matt 10:7; "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'
Matt 10:8;; "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
I find it interesting that Judas was among these twelve. No where does it say He didn't heal or cast out demons.
But what I find more amazing here is... no where before this time does it say the disciples did any miracles. Oh yes, they saw Jesus do many. But they themselves.. well that's different.
It's all fine and good to watch Jesus do something. But what about when He calls you to do something?
I can imagine the meeting between the disciples shortly after Jesus tells them to go do this.
Did he say go heal people? Cast out demons? Us? Even you Simon?
Raise the dead? How are we supposed to do that? I think Jesus forgot who He was speaking to.
It doesn't look like He is going with us, we are all going different directions, He can't follow all of us.
What happens if we can't do it?
Now of course, we know they did go do it. But I have to wonder if it really was as easy as... lets just go do it. No doubts, no worries.
