Mathew 17, verses 3 - 5.

I love imagining this scene and always smile at what Peter says.

However, a question for serious readers of the Bible please. How would Peter know it was Elijah and Moses who appeared?

Probably they overheard them talking about what Jesus was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.

Luk 9:29 And as He was praying, the appearance of His countenance became altered (different), and His raiment became dazzling white [flashing with the brilliance of lightning].
Luk 9:30 And behold, two men were conversing with Him--Moses and Elijah,
Luk 9:31 Who appeared in splendor and majesty and brightness and were speaking of His exit [from life], which He was about to bring to realization at Jerusalem. (AMP)

Greetings,

could it be at all possible that Jesus told Peter and other Disciples info that was not written? Like, for instance, who Jesus spoke with at that time and even what they spoke about?

Bless you ....><>
