We might see in this portion some of our Lord and His righteousness that and Whom we can and should seek, especially if we have tasted and seen that the LORD is good.

Hello there,
Looking at the portions of Scripture that have been quoted:- Isaiah 62:1-12, Luke 3:5-6 with reference to Jeremiah 24, in the light of the subject heading regarding an eternal hope which is to reign throughout eternity, Would you mind telling me (scripturally) what your hope comprises. For these verses do not reflect my own hope.

yep, and the english word "Sanctification" can be problematic when relating to the new testament rendering in that text,, especially individual paragraphs.

That is why, when getting serious with "new testament" words, We Must have a copy of "Vines Dictionary of New Testament Words' and The Englishmen Greek Concordance, and the time to learn the pattern as expressed in The New Testament era.

There is one word for "Sanctification" in english. but more in The Greek Text with different meanings. and each one, has a meaning of "Set aside".
Examples only:
1. set yourself aside
2, The Holy Spirit who is The Parakletos, set you aside. differating you from all people of other kinds.
3. God had set you aside before All Creation.
4.God is Setting you aside. "perfecting you" := SANCTIFYING You. [By doing so, he is making a "GIFT" for His Only Son] which is His purpose.
5.The Angels sets you aside...{unless thou cast thy foot upon a stone] "For they were Created to "MINSTER To us, Those Who are "The JOINT HEIRS" unto SALVATION" Strengthening us to Endure, The Cross, that is Set before us..

Sorry I did not respond properly to this entry of yours. I think in the verse I quoted (above) it means to 'hallow' or ' mentally venerate' God in our heart, don't you? For if we have that consciousness of Him, constantly, within our hearts and minds, it should regulate both our words and our actions.

* Regarding what you say concerning, 'believing God,' I agree. For if we truly believed God then we would believe what He says, and would walk in a manner which would reflect His greatness.

* The Lord has been impressing on me, in my Bible readings the need to believe what He says. One reading is in the first chapter of Jeremiah, which I have been drawn back to time and again. For God told Jeremiah what He wanted him to do, and assured Him of His protection. The enormity of the task must have seemed so very great to Jeremiah, yet God told Jeremiah he was not to fear. He was to believe God absolutely, and go resolutely forward, and obey God by speaking in His Name: regardless of the peoples facial expressions, words or actions. For God would keep him safe. But the warning was also given, that if Jeremiah did succumb to fear in their presence, God would confound Jeremiah before them. For he must believe God no matter what, and trust Him in all circumstances. No American marine could have had a more fearsome commander, to whom he was to give unswerving obedience.

* Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God: only as we read, believe and make application of His word, as appropriate, in our lives, will faith grow and become strong. For full assurance comes with understanding and acknowledging. I think of the desire of Paul for the believers who had not met him in the flesh, in Colossians 2:2-3:-

' That their hearts might be comforted,

being knit together in love,

and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding,

to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.'

* Oh! To believe God in every aspect of our lives, how very different our lives would be:, but how many of us think to acknowledge Him in all our ways, as it says in Proverbs, 3:5-8:-

'Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;

and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.'

* I am so grateful for God's mercy and His grace: for bearing with me, and graciously holding me up when I have fallen, Yet had I consulted Him, trusted Him, I would not have fallen in the first place. Thinking about Jeremiah, it is important to note, I think, that his was no self-chosen task: it was by God's appointment; and God equipped Him for the task,and assured Him of His protection. Jeremiah spoke God's words, not his own: speaking and acting at God's prompting, for the duration of time of God's choosing, trusting Him with the outcome, Who had promised.

This seems important to say.

I have been back in Jeremiah chapter one yet again in my mind (re. reply #10 & #11) before God, and this morning I saw the necessity for the severity of God toward Jeremiah, in saying, that If he was dismayed by the facial expressions of those to whom he was sent to deliver God's Word, then God would, 'confound' him before them. Yet, I now realise that it was necessary for Jeremiah's fear of God to be far greater than His fear of man, and that God's severity of tone and insistence on absolute trust, and absolute obedience, was as much for Jeremiah's own security as it was for His Own Name's sake. God was equipping Jeremiah, drilling him, strengthening him for His service, which would be difficult in the extreme, and it would be necessary that Jeremiah's fear of Him far outweigh his fear of man.

Oh how great and almighty our God is, how wondrous His grace towards us, in Christ Jesus His Son. How grateful we should be for all our life experiences, no matter how severe, for we do not know what the future has in store for ourselves or those around us, and the Lord is strengthening us to meet those eventualities, not only for our own sake, but for the sake of those with whom we have to do. That we may comfort others with the comfort that we ourselves have received.

I have been back in Jeremiah chapter one yet again in my mind (re. reply #10 & #11) before God, and this morning I saw the necessity for the severity of God toward Jeremiah, in saying, that If he was dismayed by the facial expressions of those to whom he was sent to deliver God's Word, then God would, 'confound' him before them. Yet, I now realise that it was necessary for Jeremiah's fear of God to be far greater than His fear of man, and that God's severity of tone and insistence on absolute trust, and absolute obedience, was as much for Jeremiah's own security as it was for His Own Name's sake. God was equipping Jeremiah, drilling him, strengthening him for His service, which would be difficult in the extreme, and it would be necessary that Jeremiah's fear of Him far outweigh his fear of man.

Oh how great and almighty our God is, how wondrous His grace towards us, in Christ Jesus His Son. How grateful we should be for all our life experiences, no matter how severe, for we do not know what the future has in store for ourselves or those around us, and the Lord is strengthening us to meet those eventualities, not only for our own sake, but for the sake of those with whom we have to do. That we may comfort others with the comfort that we ourselves have received.
