Psa 15:1; O Lord, who may abide in Your tent?
Who may dwell on Your holy hill?
It is thought that David probably wrote this particular Psalm. He asks the questions.... who can enter into your tent? Who can dwell on your mountain?
The answers are in the next 4 verses.
Psa 15:2; He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart.
Psa 15:3; He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
Psa 15:4; In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those who fear the Lord; He swears to his own hurt and does not change;
Psa 15:5; He does not put out his money at interest, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken.
Are you a person of integrity? Do you always speak the truth?
Are you a gossip and slanderer? Do you take up unjust causes against your friends and neighbors?
Are you a reprobate? A reprobate is a person who cannot change. They continually do wicked things and never change.
Have you ever made a promise or vow to someone and not kept it? Even if it would hurt you to keep it?
Have you ever charged interest to a fellow Christian brother or sister?
Have you ever taken a bribe? ( I wonder how many politicians can say they never have? )
A person who doesn't do these things can never be shaken.
Not everyone who thinks they are ready to enter into presence of the Lord is really ready. Sometimes we need to check ourselves.
1Cor 11:27; Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
1Cor 11:28; But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
1Cor 11:29; For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
1Cor 11:30; For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
1Cor 11:31; But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.
For this reason... "many" (not a few) are weak and sick among you. Some "sleep" ( well sleeping isn't so bad is it? ) in this context it means many among you have died.
It seems many do not judge themselves correctly. Because of this many or sick... Hmmmm.... I wonder how many Christians are sick with Covid, or have even died from it.
But this post isn't about Covid, or even being sick... it's about being ready to enter into the presence of the Lord.
...are you ready? Really ready? Do we go into worship Sunday morning in the right condition to meet with the Lord?
