@PloughBoy -- pastoring a church does Not make a person an expert in anything. That person Should be continually learning as they share what the Holy Spirit guides them to teach their congregation. My late husband was a pastor for about 5 yrs. He Would have gone on to a Dr. but found that the more highly educated a pastor got -- the more people expected him to Be an expert. One of his instructors ,while he studied for his Bachelor's degree , told the class, when asked a question, that the Bible doesn't have an answer for 'that' and he's not going to 'speak' where Bible Doesn't.
Hebrews 1:1 "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 Peter 1:21 "for prophesy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
The Bible came From manuscripts -- and there are the Minor and Major Prophets in the Old Testament -- so, yes, it's very much Included in the Bible / God's Word to us.
