I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3 NKJV
Is it easier to endure alone or with help? Is it easier to endure if you feel exposed or protected? Is it easier to endure if you feel abandoned or rescued? When you have to stand, do you want to step into quicksand or onto solid rock?
You could endure alone and exposed while feeling abandoned. But if you recognize the strength of God, you have access to help, protection, and rescue. The great men of faith trusted God when they faced difficulty. You should too.
Endurance isn’t a test you must take alone. God is available, and is described as strength, salvation, and a stronghold. Call on Him, give Him praise, and find rescue when you need it most. Doing life alone may sound rugged, individualistic, and the pinnacle of self-reliance. But unexpected and undesirable things happen when you struggle alone. You’ve simply decided to try to do what you can’t do—without help.
Prayer: God, I can think You are more impressed with me when I endure alone, but instead You patiently wait to be invited to my crisis. Welcome to my crisis. Help!
