This immediately came to mind when I read the daily verse meme
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
1:24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was.

God has been laying these concepts on my heart a lot lately.
"Search me, oh Lord, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; See if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way." Psalm 139:23-24
