After love love, what is the second highest fruit of the Spirit? Joy. Yet it seems so many Christians do not have joy. Here on TalkJesua dn on Facebook and everywhere I look many Christians
do not seem to have much joy. Yet other do, what is their secret? What do they know that some Christians don't?
John 15:10; "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
John 15:11; "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
John 15:12; "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
John 15:13; "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:14; "You are My friends if you do what I command you.
Well OK, if we keep the commandments we will abide in the love of Jesus... thats been discussed many times here. Old news as it were.
But the next line says.. I told you these things "so that My joy may be on you"... "and that your joy may be made full".
If I'm totally honest, I see anything but the love of Jesus on most "Christian" sites. I see anything but joy in many posts. It's all negative, what's wrong with you, what's wrong with me.
What's wrong with the government, and what's wrong with the pizza I had yesterday. Where is the joy?
These five verses keep it simple. You will abide in my love if you keep the commandments.
I tell you this so that you can have joy. No obedience = no joy.
So what is the commandment? That you love one another.. "just as I have loved you".
We are Jesus's friend if we keep this commandment. We will have joy if we keep this commandment.
If you want real joy in your life, just do what Jesus says.
I'm telling you this so that your joy may be complete.
