A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not [find it], But knowledge [is] easy to him who understands. Proverbs 14:6 NKJV
God has answers, and the transformed discover truth from the God who promised His Spirit would teach them. There’s no room for arrogance. You didn’t make any discoveries without someone pointing them out. Your greatest response is gratitude that God is willing to teach. You learn from the One who actually knows it all.
Some don’t honor God in their hearts or actions. They assume God’s Word is wrong. They believe in the value of new and untested theories and philosophies. They’re drawn to the latest ideas while making fun of the very truth that exchanges foolishness with genuine wisdom.
You once stood in a long line with the unbelieving and foolish. You weren’t convinced the Bible was a trustworthy document whose author was God Himself. As you grow in faith you have discovered the Bible is the right tool to straighten out faulty thinking (2 timothy 3:16), has answers for the future (Matthew 5:18), and will be used in eternity (Matthew 24:35).
Proverbs 3:13 (NKJV) says, “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.” Be happy.
Prayer: Dear God, Your wisdom makes my wisdom look foolish. Keep me from thinking I know it all. Keep me reading Your Word. Keep me learning from Your Spirit.
