Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. "Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come." 1 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT

Most exercise programs focus on what you eat and how you make your body do what they think it should do. There has to be choice, commitment, and consistency. You might start with an iron will, but then collapse like aluminum.

Maybe you’re a gym rat. You arrive early, stay late, do more reps than suggested. You go home with a mixture of exhaustion and euphoria.

The human body can be transformed through effort, attention, and exercise. You might even pay more attention to physical fitness than your spiritual life. Paul said exercise is a good thing, but it only benefits a finite body. If you paid as much attention to your spiritual fitness, it has greater value because it keeps you fit in this life and in eternity.

Pay attention to what you put into your mind. Spend some time doing what god asks you to do. Share this fitness plan with others.

Transformation with cooperation prepares you for your ultimate destination.

Prayer: Dear God, I admit I don’t spend enough time with You to call it a workout. As my spiritual trainer, Your Spirit can get me into shape. I want that. I want to be more than a spectator in the stands. Put me in, Coach.
