Anyone got any scripture to support it???
I grew up catholic and know it is taught, and the doctrine was used to raise funds for the church in years past.
I have never found any scripture that supports anything looking like purgatory, I see scripture that opposes the doctrine.
Having many family members that are catholic I would love to believe purgatory, but to me that takes away from what Jesus did.
the basic doctrine states you go to a place to be purified before going to heaven, this is for people who are only little sinners you know people who tell white lies etc...., and that is what I herd a priest say, I remember to this day.
we have scripture here does not look like a place inbetween
Luke 16-26
26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’
