I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments. Psalm 119:176 NKJV

For most of this psalm, the author expresses his faith in God and His Word. Still, he’s compelled to end with a confession. As much as he believes, it isn’t enough to keep him on track spiritually. He still needs God’s guiding and sustaining hand.

The human heart is prone to wander, even post conversion. Surely, you’ve felt it. Sometimes it starts with one sin and quickly progresses. Other times, it starts with hardship. Either way, before long, you’re further away from the Lord than you ever intended to be. This is why sheep need shepherds who are willing to do whatever it takes to keep their sheep in the fold.

When is the last time you prayed a prayer like the one in today’s key verse? Ask the Lord to seek for you, even if and maybe especially if you recognize you are in the pigpen. In the power of the Spirit, rise up and run straight toward the Father.

Praise God, He is always at the ready to run back to us.

Prayer: Lord, today’s verse cut me to the quick. Indeed, my heart is prone to wander. It’s not because I don’t love You or Your Word. It’s because my heart is tainted with sin. Forgive me, Father. Seek me. I’m listening for Your voice.

Hopefully The Lord will forgive me for being a man that isn't able to walk perfectly in half a year.

Right now, it's time for me to step in and leap with faith--otherwise, as we see.. more voices of truth will be lost.

Prov 24:16; For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.

Hopefully The Lord will forgive me for being a man that isn't able to walk perfectly in half a year.

Right now, it's time for me to step in and leap with faith--otherwise, as we see.. more voices of truth will be lost.
Fits right in with this devotional, and verse. However, truth is never lost, as long as you look through the eyes of God, in understanding that to everything there is a purpose. Though to us as man, it is yet not clearly understood what that purpose may be, but to Glorify our Heavenly Father in all that we do.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
