Will take a look at the Chicago statement ..... I did look it up and read through it. The only part that was somewhat confusing were the statements made in the negative way -- that which they 'deny'.

Yes read it kinda slow. In statements like that you have make it clear, because of “critics” and “Skeptics” and because we show the difference between what we believe and the “RCC”. That is why those “Deny’s” are in there. They are denying the “RCC” believeth concerning the “Holy Scripture “. Especially where the “RCC” has change certain things in our bible in which we read.

regarding the 'five sola's', there is only one, for three are all part of that one and we find a testimony of that One in the other.

Who do you think “coined”the words of the “Bible” you just Quoted!
How could you do that! You don’t except the “5”Solas” but you quote their “word phrases” that they “coined” to translate from copies of the “”Original Text” in “our Bibles” in “Post” #44. I just don’t get it.

I know that I could not even begin to translate anything and we who read English owe thanks to those who have translated and to God for there being anything to translate,

There is One and God is glorified in the Son and unlike many before us we can read and we have Bibles to read but also let us not miss that faith comes from hearing.
Even if we have never heard about 5 solas we are still able to believe as much as any people of any tongue and much could be said the same about that Chicago thing you wrote about. Interesting and informative and educational.

My reason for using the quotes from the Bible was to remind ourselves, you included, that we need to keep our mind stayed on the LORD and not on man nor on anything that frazzles us and I think that the original translators would agree.

You do Remember Wycliffe had a very bad “English translation” and you do remember why? The Reformation materials you talking about we learn that stuff as little kids, like when you start your A B C’s. But I am glad this stuff is coming back up because it reminds me of the battles and hardship they went through. Since last year was the 500 anniversary of the Reformation movement. Now those was “Disciples”! But God is about to raise a new patch. Of Remnants according to grace. Young and faithful. And it is going to be hard for them. “ pray Ye to the Lord of the harvest”!
Because the enemy is replacing real church history with his own view, He knows his time is getting short. And he is furious! And we know his tactics. Shalom

And also I believe in "The Apostle Greed" in which I have frame and place in my vestibule of my home.

My late husband was ordained into the ministry by Southbrook Baptist Church / Minnesota back about 40 yrs ago. -- We don't go by the Apostles' Creed.

I did not say I go by the" Apostles Creed". I said, I believe.

You just said that you Believe the Apostles creed and Then you said you don't 'go by it'? IF you truly Believe it -- why Don't you go by it. You're comment isn't making any sense.

Or are you saying you believe it but as a good work on your part to make sure you get to heaven?

Years ago I was part of a G.A.R.B.C. church -- every time before we had communion -- once a quarter or so -- we would read the Doctrinal statement at the beginning of the hymnal as a congregation.

Being down south -- it's not GARBC territory -- I'm at an Independent Baptist church. It's assumed that when a person joins the church -- we are supporting their beliefs and activities. We meet with the Pastor privately first. Then at the end of the church service, we go forward and tell pastor what we want to do publically. He introduces us to the rest of the congregation and people come welcome us into the group.

Once in a while we do a responsive reading from the hymnal. We're not really under Any Creed. And, no, it's a very real legitimate church. He's a wonderful Bible teacher -- book by book -- chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

I understand that, because most Bapttist churches are independent. and classified themselves not under any "creed". but terms them "beliefs" and they do state what they believe, but most of the time "orally and simple", "They believe the Bible.", and by other statements like we believe in "the Trinity" and so on. so I do get it. I understand you. I am not fighting against you.
