Everybody seems to be busy. If you ask people how they are, they all say,"Busy!" There's a difference between being busy and being fruitful. Busy: When a person can't tell you what they did at the end of the day, when life just whizzed right past them, when they're frustrated because they're not fulfilling their dreams.-Luke 10:38-42. Fruitful: When a person is putting a lot of time and energy into accomplishing what God has called them to do, bearing much fruit, and fulfilling their purpose.-John 15:5. Don't let the devil steal your time or the system of the world manipulate you and keep you from the things that you should be doing.
God gives us resources and the Bible tells us to be a good steward. Don't just think of stewardship with money; we should be good stewards of everything that God gives us. Do you have a car? Take your neighbor for a drive through the countryside or spend an hour at the park enjoying the beauty of nature. When you have five minutes, take that five minutes and sow it into somebody's life through an encouraging phone call.
Are you spending time doing what helps you fulfill your purpose? Are you doing what God has given you the desire to do or are you being controlled by circumstances and other people? Are you bearing good fruit?-Galatians 5:22-26. What are you doing to help someone else? Are you seeing results or are you too busy?
God gives us the desire to bear good fruit. Whatever God gives you a desire to do, it will always be centered around "helping others." When the world sees you helping others, they will see the light within you shine. This light shining ever so brightly will lead them to glorify your Father which is in heaven.-Matthew 5:14-16.
Father, we know we can not bear good fruit for You when we are too busy. May be abide in You, listen for Your voice, and bear much fruit. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Love in Christ,
Jan
