As a follower of Jesus, it is my responsibility to act and share the Good News of salvation. Mark 16:15-And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." In the 21st century, the internet has become a mission field where people can reach out and share Christ's love. God called Chad to begin this ministry, Talk Jesus. Thank you, Chad! All of us here are followers of Jesus, just like Chad. God made it possible through the work of the Holy Spirit within Chad to provide a platform for us to preach the gospel. It's a stepping out in faith. We must step out in faith and tell others about the wonderful gift of salvation. We should be looking for opportunities to spread the Good News; to our friends, neighbors, mechanic, hair stylist, etc. If the Holy Spirit truly dwells within us, we should be compelled to tell others! One of the jobs of the Holy Spirit is to give us boldness to tell others. We have to truly understand the Good News with our hearts before we can tell any one else. Only when the plan of salvation is imprinted on our minds and lives in our hearts, will we want to tell others. I strongly encourage all of us to take some time, if we haven't already, and memorize the following words. After these words are rooted in your heart, the Holy Spirit will show you how to express them with your own personality; but the message will be the same.
Good News: We have all sinned and deserve God's judgement. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgement for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died on a cross for our sins, taking punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. Say to them, if you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord", you will be saved from judgement and spend eternity with God in heaven. Once you've told them, God will take over. You did what Jesus commanded you to do. It's God's responsibility to move into their heart. As a follower of Jesus, you already believe these words in your heart, but when you can say them out loud forward and backwards; you will be able to with ease share them when an opportunity presents itself. The Holy Spirit living in our spirit gives us the desire to tell others!
You may be afraid at first, that's ok. It's important to learn the words so they come naturally to you. Practice on a friend who already has a relationship with Jesus. After you share the Good News a few times, you'll start to feel comfortable doing it. Just keep this in mind, though; some people will reject you from the get go. That's to be expected. You can't take it personally. You have to remember, they're not really rejecting you, they're rejecting the message. You can't let it stop you!
When you have the wonderful words of God's gift of salvation imprinted on your mind and alive in your heart; the Holy Spirit will begin to move in your spirit and lead you to the people who need to hear the Good News!!!
