One of the buzz word amongst liberals and feminists this last year is "misogyny". The definition of it is sometimes hard to pin down.
But basically it is the opposition to verses in the Bible like...

1 Tim 5:14 Therefore, I want younger widows to get married, bear children, keep house, and give the enemy no occasion for reproach;

Not so much the part about "widows", but rather the women should stay at home, wear aprons, be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen,
and clean house.

1 Tim 2:9; Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,
1 Tim 2:10; but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
1 Tim 2:11; A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
1 Tim 2:12; But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
1 Tim 2:13; For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
1 Tim 2:14; And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
1 Tim 2:15; But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

After reading this, a lady once said to me "no wonder Paul wasn't ever married".

But according to this, women shouldn't be bossy (or even Bosses) . They should be submissive. They should wear modest clothing.
(a trait all but forgotten in young women today). It says women "will be preserved through the bearing of children" ...if...
Again, it seems to be saying here, women need to stay home and raise children.

Now I know this flies in the face of women's liberation, and women want to be "free". Free from the bonds of marriage and motherhood.
Another way to look at this, is they want to be selfish, and do what they want to do.
Now marriage and children aren't for everyone. (I think some women would make terrible mothers) but the first commandment given to
men and women in the Bible was...

Gen 1:27; God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Gen 1:28; God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Now there is a fine line between being a mother and making a lifelong career out of it.
Some women want children, they just "don't want to raise them". In other words, they want day-cares, babysitters, grandma, schools, and
whoever else will do it to raise them. Children are expensive, messy and disobedient.. (welcome to God's world).
The main problem with this, is that children are being raised without any Godly discipline, values, morals, or Biblical teaching. In fact in most
cases, they are being taught just the opposite.

Eph 5:22; Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
Eph 5:23; For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.
Eph 5:24; But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

Again, it seems God's plan is for the man to be the head of the household. Not to be a slave-master and bully, but to take part in the
decisions of the household and the way the children are raised. (It isn't ONLY a woman's duty).
There is also a lot in this passage about how husband's should love their wives, but that is another subject, I don't want to get distracted here.

Col 3:18; Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Col 3:20; Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.
Col 3:21; Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.

Now there are some passages in the Bible about men being "son's of Abraham, but there is also a passage about women being "daughters of Sarah"
... if they...

1 Pet 3:1; In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives,
1 Pet 3:2; as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior.
1 Pet 3:3; Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses;
1 Pet 3:4; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
1 Pet 3:5; For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands;
1 Pet 3:6; just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.

What a powerful passage here. Verse 1 says.. even if your husband is "disobedient to the word". Two wrongs don't make a right.
He isn't obeying God, so I'm not going to either. (How many marriages are in this state?)

Verse 6 here says Sarah, called Abraham "lord". I don't think my wife has ever done that, but all the rest of this she is OK with.
I am a very blessed man. My wife has actually brought many of these Bible passages to me on her own. She doesn't want to be
"large and in charge". She actually wants the husband to make a lot of the decisions. Our children are all grown and gone and married now.
We have 8 grand-children now.

By living Godly lives, we can "convert" our spouses. Not just husbands for wives, but also wives for husbands.

1 Cor 7:14; For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.
1 Cor 7:15; Yet if the unbelieving one leaves, let him leave; the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us to peace.
1 Cor 7:16; For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?

1 Tim 5:4; but if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to practice piety in regard to their own family and to make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
1 Tim 5:10; having a reputation for good works; and if she has brought up children, if she has shown hospitality to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has assisted those in distress, and if she has devoted herself to every good work.

Child raising is to honored in the church. It is one of the things women can be judged by. (How your children turn out).

Tit 2:3; Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,
Tit 2:4; so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
Tit 2:5; to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

Now I know this passage will make some women (perhaps even some men) angry, and they might think (that's easy for you to say, you're a man).
But these aren't my words. They're Gods words in the Bible. ...besides men have plenty of verses about how they should live, and love their wives
also (perhaps another thread)..

But in today's world where women are told to be independent, pursue careers, and don't submit to anyone... we need to look to the scripture
and see what God says about these things.

Prov 31:10; An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.
Prov 31:11; The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.
Prov 31:12; She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.

Prov 31:27; She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Prov 31:28; Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
Prov 31:29; "Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all."

But I don't "want" to be submissive to my husband. I know some couples argue all the time about "who is in charge".
I wonder if it is an ego thing. Often when I see young couples fighting over this, I wonder if either of them should be "in charge".
Marriage was meant to be a cooperative thing. But some women want to fight about it.

Prov 21:9; It is better to live in a corner of a roof Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.
Prov 21:19; It is better to live in a desert land Than with a contentious and vexing woman.
Prov 25:24; It is better to live in a corner of the roof Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.
Prov 26:21; Like charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to kindle strife.
Prov 27:15; A constant dripping on a day of steady rain And a contentious woman are alike;

Are you a contentious woman? I can't blame you if you are. Every movie, every television show, every commercial, every magazine,
every single internet article, every news item on the news.... all seem to be saying the opposite of the Bible. Don't submit to anyone.
Be your own woman. Fight!! But is fighting, really what God wants you to do?

wear aprons, be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen,
and clean house.

Lololol I thought: hey is that in the Bible in the English translation?

Too submissive isn't good either. If a guy is controlling, he'll walk all over you. I was a fan of a book: Me? Obey him? From a wife from a baptist preacher. Worked fine for her, cause he was normal, but if one is controlling, you have a problem. The wife from one preacher refused to iron his suit or give him coffee and he complained to God, who said he shouldn't be so bossy. Clean my suit! Coffee! She thought: bye. When he acted normal, she did it again.

lol Newname.:smile:Thank you B-A-C. Not all women are like that. My husband and I have been married 13 years and we do a lot of compromies. But we get along with a lot of humor and love. We pray alot, and don't go to a regular church, but we try to practice God's love everyday. We have a lot of respect for each other and appreciate each of the gifts that God has given us. We don't like to fight, and are grateful to have each other. God bless you!

Everything in the world can be summed up with scripture. Isn't that truly amazing.

In this world things are like poles of a magnet, everything works on opposites.

Truth / lie. Black / white. Light / dark.

If we look closely at the things in the world at this time, these opposites have become more extreme.

Marriage of a man and woman has been accepted from the beginning, as we know divorce was allowed by Moses and Jesus explained what is right and wrong, even though it happened for 1000's of years it was always rejected by the majority, but now it is accepted by the majority, it has become the norm, today making divorce easier and faster.

Man has always been meant to be the head of the family, the one who goes out to work to raise money to keep a roof over the families head and feed them. The woman was always the one that kept the home and raised the kids. It didn't start to change until the start of the industrialised revolution, from then on women working has increased.

In the past lads went with their dads, they learn men's skills, hunting, fishing and providing for the family, girls helped mum and learned mothering skills playing with dolls and prams, they learned cooking, baking skills and looking after the home.

Since the 1960's it has all changed, woman want to work, they want money for themselves, they want better things, they want better holidays, many want their own car, etc. etc. Material things.

Women want careers. I watched the news on tv last night, the newscaster was a woman, they spoke to three reporters in three different parts of the country, all were women.

I know of numerous young families where both the man and the woman work, the kids are looked after by a carer, the cost of the carer hardly covers the wage earned. It is crazy, especially when the early bonding years with the very young are lost. But it is not just the early years, kids are brought up without parental discipline, without parental guidance, they show little to no respect to their elders, please and thank you are unknown words by many kids. They spend their early years in front of cartoons on tv and later years on games machines, mobile phones and tablets, often in their own room for hours on end, playing games killing for fun and more.

In the end time it will appear the devil has domain, it certainly does. Everything God says is good, everything God says we should do, the devil causes the opposite to occur.

Governments are also to blame, as they have given incentives for years to get men and women working. The young ones know if they get pregnant the councils will have to find them a home, they will get payments to live and not work, if get pregnant again and hope it is a girl or boy so they have one of each, after a few years the council will have to provide a place with more bedrooms, meanwhile they get paid to be at home.

Couples have sex before marriage, live together, have kids and break up for the least disagreement or temptation, they often live apart when they could come back together, or won't because financially they are better off apart. Some have separated but met someone else, they come together have sex but live apart for financial gain, remaining unmarried, doing the things designed for married couples.

They were born into the time zone, into the period in time, they do what others do, because that is what our generation does they say.

God is love, Jesus says, love one another as I have loved you, the world does the opposite, people fall out, they fight. The world is no better, countries cannot agree, fighting is the only answer they know. We want peace they say, then buy masses of arms to protect themselves, evil fighting machines, bombs, missiles, etc, etc.

The world is unGodly, scripture tells us clearly, only two times in history will this happen. The first was Sodom and Gomorrah, the second is like unto it, as the days of Noah were, the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.

We have a lot to pray for, a lot of souls to pray for, a lot of governments to pray for, pray about abortion, pray about marriage between man and woman, pray for the current and future generations of children and pray for the schools and what is taught in the schools today. Kids can have 2 mummy's, 2 daddies, 1 mommy, 1 daddy, and it is said to be law, correct and acceptable. Let us pray for God's Word to be accepted in all places, the 10 commandments to be accepted in all places, the Lord's Prayer to be accepted in all places. Let us pray for marriage and divorce to be seen as God intended, let us pray sex will be accepted as God intended, for man and woman in marriage, let's us pray God's will will be done on earth, let us pray in faith and let the spirit guide our hearts and minds in Jesus Name Amen.

Women always worked, except when they were rich. Even the Proverbs 31 woman worked.
Ruth worked.
Now you have to study and work. You can't lazy around all day, waiting for some rich man to take care of you some day.
God told me I had to finish my study and He would use it. I hated studying. Would have much rather stayed home all the time when I got a baby, but I had to work. Only 2 days first. I was lucky. Work 2, get paid for 4 . Paid parental leave.
Corrie ten Boom worked.

And the home was also the place of business in the Greek/Roman 1st century. People didn't go to offices to work.

So women being at home did not mean restricted to cooking and cleaning, but being productive in business and community.

One woman in church said: I chose to stay home with the kids.
As if you can just choose. Her 3 y o was so hungry, he ate peanuts. We gave em money and food til I got kids myself and was like: bye! I'm not gonna see my kids less to make money to give to you so you can stay with yours. Provide for your own kids.

Genesis

But God created Adam, then created Eve to be a companion and helper for him, to be Adam's wife.

The male was to hunt and bring home the food, the female was to look after the home and the children.

God had said, go forth and multiply, the man had a lot to do to feed the family, the woman had a lot to do to look after them and the home.

13 She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
15 She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
From [e]her profits she plants a vineyard.
17 She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.
18 She perceives that her merchandise isgood,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
22 She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sellsthem,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.

If Ruth hadn't worked, Naomi wouldn't have food and she wouldn't have met Boaz.

Not working was a luxury in rich countries. In Africa they always worked on the field.
Feminists in Holland fought for their right to work part time, so they can stay at home and bake cookies with the kids. Men want that too now.

So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.”
And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”
3 Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.
4 Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, “The Lord be with you!”
And they answered him, “The Lord bless you!”
5 Then Boaz said to his servant who was in charge of the reapers, “Whose young woman is this?”
6 So the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered and said, “It is the young Moabite woman who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab. 7 And she said, ‘Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.’ So she came and has continued from morning until now, though she rested a little in the house.”

I had a female manager with 2 kids. She worked 4 days a week. She was from Canada. Her husband had a real good job. She had all these men complaining to her that they wanted more money and she complained to me that it was all way too much. I said: Why don't you just take another job, not as complicated, no ppl whining and just work 3 days a week? Then you can see your kids more. Well she did and she was a lot happier.

Dads were to disciplin their sons and teach em in the fear of the Lord. If they're never home and leave that job to the woman, no wonder she becomes bossy. You have to, to raise kids. That's the great thing about men not working 60 hours a week and who are bossy. Great dads and mom doesn't have to act like a man. Women don't want bossy men anymore. They want a nice man. But then you have to step up if he doesn't do it. Men don't want a submissive woman. They want one who knows how to rule the household, not a weakling who just listens. Except my dad. He always liked it and it was easy for my mom. He did the filthy work of disciplining us.

My mother, when she got saved she asked God to change my dad. He could be harsh. God said: You change. Listen to him, obey, bless and forgive. She laid down her life for him. But he was an atheist and that's how you save them. He changed too. The flipside of it is that there was control and I thought this was normal, so you look for that too. Control is bad, in men and women. It's just control demons.
My mother had a job and stopped working when she got kids. Dad had a good job. When I was 4 she took a parttime job in the evenings or weekend, when my dad didn't work. Didn't make her bossy. She was the total opposite. Work has nothing to do with wanting to control a man. You can also control someone if you stay home.

Women controlling men or man hate is not something new. Ahab had Jezebel. The wife from Herod had the same spirit. It's a demon. I saw a video marriage from hell where a woman beat up her husband. He kicked a demon out.

There were housewives in our church who completely bossed their men around. In Holland a lot of men are okay with being bossed around. Matriarchy. I gave one that book from Me? Obey him? which basically says you always have to obey no matter what. She wasn't happy with it. He had to do everything the way she wanted him to. Goodness, one couple asked my ex for help in their marriage. I joined. She was a housewife til the kids were 18. Then she got a part time job. She said: he can borrow my car if I don't need it. She worked around the corner and he traveled with the train to the other end of the country 5 days a week. I said: do you even want to fix your marriage? She looked at me sheepishly. Then I walked away and hung out with their sons, who had to wait in the other building.
Once she went on a holiday alone for a month. He put a ping pong table in the house. Finally! We can do what we want. She's not there. Then just before she came back, he was stressed up. Oh 2 days to go. We must clean it all up.

When they were divorced, he let her be the elder. She preached once. He wasn't there. She told my kids to shut up. I was like: oh hey gotta grab something. Lol took the kids w me outside and we just left. Bye!
