The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. Proverbs 11:3

What would you do if your server brought your check at the end of a dinner at your favorite restaurant, and you noticed that your dessert was left off the bill? Or if you were overpaid for work you had just completed? Or if someone inadvertently gave you credit for a coworker’s accomplishment?

Life is filled with all sorts of tests for that character quality called “integrity.” Through big tests and small (relatively, that is) tests alike, you’re constantly presented with opportunities to make sure you please God by doing what you know is right.

The Christian writer C. S. Lewis noted: “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” That’s a great definition of integrity, isn’t it? And it’s also a great reminder to do everything you do, even in private, with an eye toward true integrity. Here’s a question to test yourself and the level of integrity by which you live: Do you do what you know is right—even in the relatively “small” areas of life—even when you know no one is looking, even when you know there are no consequences?

When you walk in integrity in all areas of your life, you please your Father in heaven and also keep a clear conscience. That’s a great way to live!

funny you posted that when I came to Christ soon afterwords I was correcting so many cashiers from making mistakes in my favor it was not funny. Occasionally happens now but near as much as it used to.

good stuff brother Nick

Honor the Lord and He will honor you. Example:
Proverbs 3:9-10 King James Version (KJV)

9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8
