1Jo 3:6 Whosoever abides in Jesus Christ sins not: whosoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.
This is not saying, whosoever does something wrong does not abide in Christ (and we all do wrong things), but it says, whosoever "sins" does not abide in Christ. Whosoever misses the mark does not abide in Christ. This is because they are not saved. These are not the servants of Christ, but the servants of the devil. (John 8:34) Their body has not been cleansed and thay have not become the Temple of the Holy Ghost. A new covenant believer is different than an old covenant believer in that, the Spirit of GOD cleansed new covenant believers from all sin (forever) and abides in them; whereas under the old covenant those believers could not be cleansed from sin because the blood of bulls and goats could not take away their sins.
Jesus has justified all believers from sin, delivered them from sin, healed them from sin, blotted their sin out, put their sin off them, cancelled their sin, made and end of sin, made them blind to sin, caused them to be dead to sin, redeemed them from sin, atoned for their sins, quickened them from sin, crucified and condemned their sin. What more needs to be said.
Sin is missing the mark. Under the Law of Moses it meant striving to do exactly what the law said without offending in one point. If a person missed the mark, the judicial law would let them know what their consequences are. The Judicial Law immediately condemned them, and told them the act they committed was SIN; therefore, offer a sacrifice or die. The wages of sin was death.
Under the new covenant in Christ there is no missing the mark. Grace has provided us with time to learn GOD’s ways without fearing condemnation or having a consciousness of sin or guilt. Under the law, Israel had a consciousness of sin daily knowing that they could die the next minute if they sinned accidentally; which could require death. Like, do not touch the Ark of the Covenant. It happened. Believers now, on the other hand, have Grace to cover them from accidental mistakes (not sin) but unfruitful works.
1Jo 3:9 Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God
Many people say, this means whosoever does not practice sin! How can a person read 1John 3:9, and conclude this verse to says, a believer born of GOD “does not” nor “cannot” practice sin; as oppose to, “does not” and “cannot” sin as it says? The double negative in this verse says, a born again believer, “does not sin,” and he “cannot sin.” There are no words leading the reader to believe this scripture is saying, a believer "does not" and "cannot" “practice sin;” which minimizes the impact and truth of the scripture.
