What you are experiencing is known as "the lusts of the flesh" All Christians struggle with this on a daily bases. How to overcome these desires takes spiritual growth on your part. You might have victory over it for days, months, even years, but that ability to commit that same sin over again will always be present as long as we are living in these physical bodies (flesh). The scriptures tell that if we would "walk in the Spirit, we will no fulfill the lusts of the flesh" The ones who walk in the Spirit are those who have their minds set on the things above. How long can a person continue to walk in the Spirit? How long can a man keep his heart, and mind set on the things above, that's how long. Sanctification is what the Holy Spirit does in our lives once we become a child of God which means to "make Holy". This is a life long process. When we do struggle against the sin(s) that seem to trip us up the most, we confess our sin's to God and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Try not to make a commitment to the Lord about never doing a certain sin again, but trust in him with your weakness's for he already knows the future, and what sin(s) you will do again. He knows your heart, and he understands your feelings. Feeling guilty is not a bad thing as it tells us when when we do wrong, and need to repent.
